Holm looked a great one, young, tons of game time for Varelenga, just didn't work out for whatever reason so far.

Kwon, Yang and tillio aye, all that random weird punt types. But Yang has shown the improvement and been decent at times this season.

Was thinking myself I'd probably rather give him a chance than Yang but then I remembered both are nowhere near it.

Maybe. Trying to think of how many of these under £1m transfers have worked out in recent years.

Somebody will know but since Wanyama maybe, I can't think of any. No doubt there will be a few obvious guys that will come back to bite me on the * :celtman2:

    *not including free transfers.

Holm was about £2.5m. Still think he has talent and made sense on paper, but clearly an attitude thing. Just looks like a wee *.

Hatate was about £1.2m so close to that barrier. Maeda £1.5m?

Under that I dunno. Sinisalo could be one in future he was about £900k. We've seen a bit of a return on what we paid for scales I suppose. Could sell him for more.

But yeah. You definitely get what you pay for. Even with Idah and Engels folk say we've overpaid yet they have still contributed quite significantly across laar season. These small buys generally come in and offer hee haw.

Looking around the under 2 million mark
Frimpong did a good one for us, Ajer, Christie, Oh, Scales, Joe Hart, MoR, Johnny Hayes, Gary Mackay-Steven, Leigh Griffiths, Nir bottom, Tom Rogic, Adam Matthews, Emilio, Kirs Commons. Going back further the value point changes really, and that's cherry picked, plenty duds in there too.

In the more of a failure but we made money
Could look at Iwata in there (harsh on him he could have been more for us), lawal, Urgohide, Ideguchi

McCowan is doing well right now.

Marco Tilio enjoyed a decent loan back home at Melbourne City last season.

The diminutive wide player notched five goals and the same number of assists for the A League club as he impressed in 19 outings in all competitions.

Tilio, 23, struggled to break into Celtic's first-team squad under Brendan Rodgers before his loan was sanctioned but he did play twice for the Hoops in matches against Hibs and Motherwell.

Both appearances earned him less than half an hour on the pitch combined but it's understood Rodgers will bring the Australian international back into the fold for pre-season.

It is believed Rodgers wants to see how improved the playmaker is from his time away from Lennoxtown and will give him a crack at showing what he is capable of in training.

It is also possible Tilio could be involved in some of the friendly fixtures against the likes of Como, Sporting and Newcastle United before the beginning of next term.

Of course, the likelihood is that Tilio will eventually leave Parkhead on a permanent transfer and it's understood there are options for the player and club.

Seems like a sensible approach, it’s not like any fee we get will be massive so holding out to see if he is of any use to us is not a bad idea then likely selling later in the window.

He’ll probably end up staying as backup

He'll have to have improved a lot from his appearances with us. I was sitting in line with his wing when he came on against Hibs and AJ seemed reluctant to pass to him.

It’s mental that’s he’s still got 3 years left on his contract, it feels like we signed him ages ago.

If we’re seriously going to punt him back to Oz on loan, again, that’s about as close to an admission that we think he’s a complete no-hoper as you’ll get. Honestly, I wouldn’t even be entertaining another loan back to Melbourne. Either they make it a permanent deal (the fee can be equivalent to his wages for the remainder of his contract, or a significant % of it) or loan him to a team elsewhere that could realistically pay us a fee.
