I’m ok with him going if we get a good price. He became a bit too predictable and tbh I can’t stand moody players

NICOLAS KUHN is a £15million summer target for former club RB Leipzig.

SunSport understands the German giants are weighing up a megabucks bid for the Celtic winger.

Kuhn, 25, spent three years with Leipzig as a youngster and scored twice against them in the Champions League last season.

Celtic signed the German from Rapid Vienna for £3m and would stand to make a huge profit - if they accept any bid from the Bundesliga outfit.

Kuhn burst to life for the Hoops last season after initially taking time to settle in Glasgow.

He was a standout in the first six months of the season and shone on the Champions League stage.

Kuhn ripped Leipzig apart in a 3-1 league phase win and also netted against Bayern Munich in the knockout stages.

His form tailed off towards the end of the season but he was still nominated for PFA Scotland Player of the Year.

Kuhn finished the season with 21 goals and 15 assists - form that attracted interest from around Europe.

It’s understood several Bundesliga clubs are watching him but Leipzig want attacking reinforcements after finishing seventh last season.

Celtic wouldn’t want to lose Kuhn but the prospect of a return to the Bundesliga could appeal.

He has made no secret of his ambition to play for the Germany national side and may feel that would boost his chances.

    £15m ain't enough.

£20m +. Regardless of his face or attitude 21 goals and 15 assists ain't easy to replace.

It’s the one thing missing from the wingers linked so far. That lightning quick pace which is so useful in transition.

Don’t get me wrong, the likes of Balikwisha, Orjasaeter and Nygren will not be slow but I don’t think any of them have the sort of pace that Maeda and Kuhn have.

Im with @Mr Shelby and @Celtic_Daft1888 , ppl are forgetting what Kuhn actually brings to this side.

Obviously he has had an uneven season, and has had more than a few of us tearing our hair out on the second half of the season, but goals, assists and pace are not something easily replaced, and as @Celtic_Daft1888 already stated, his pace in transitions is not something that has been seen in any of the wingers weve been linked with.

We need to be very careful with this one, regarding the player especially. We tell him his value is 20m+, and he wont be leaving for anything under it, let his agent do the rest.

If they're offering 15 we will probably settle on 17-18. Is what it is he will be desperate to go there is so no point standing in his way he was huffy enough the last 6 months.

We should be trying to keep our best players, he's better than Jota and the best winger at the club since Scott Sinclair. His form dropped off in his first season playing 40 plus games for a big club. He will only get better next season.

Genuinely think people compare him with Jota based on their personalities he's clearly a more serious character and Jota is more light hearted - don't think that's any reason to sell him at all, based on last seasons numbers he posted. He's a crucial player for the Champions League.

I do still think that his dip in form following the Bayern game were for a few reasons:

    1. Exhaustion from a hard pre-season where he came back stronger than the year previous
    2. Adapting to Jota being a new team mate to gel with
    3. Perceived drop off in quality between CL and SPFL opponents following exit from the competition, which is a risky game to play

He's a brilliant player on his day and important for the team's attacking 3 in europe, and have no doubt the board will have also identified other candidates should he move on.

I actually think as well we don’t give other teams domestically enough credit. They worked out how to play/defend against him by the end of the season. We’ve seen it many times before where players start brilliantly then tail off.

I think now’s definitely the right time to sell whilst his stock is high though. I don’t think we gain much more value if he plays well again next season

Leipzig can definitely afford 20-25 million and that’s what we should be pushing for …

Like others have said, there might be an element of him just hitting a bit of a purple patch but there’s worse footballers that have went for higher fees.

I wonder what the highest transfer fee has ever been for a player that was once in an academy of a club who they let go, only to then buy them back for a big fee later down the line, anyone know?

They can as they are likely getting north of £60m for Sesko and Simons might move too.

Just looked at their record transfer fees for players purchased and the cheeky * can definitely afford more than £15M when you look at this list, especially for a player that tore them a new one last season, should be told to ram it

Aye it would be good to start setting a precedent for our better players leaving for 25+ million now … especially with some of the fees going on around Europe.

He tore them a new hole when we played them so that helps :BR1:
