A complete unknown in a position we need a solid back up.

Would have rather kept Taylor or the boy Penrice if we are just going down the unknown route.

Under no circumstances cann we afford to be relying on KT all season. Just end up breaking him again.

He should, otherwise it means he accepted the player suggested and can have no complaints if he performs poorly.

If we are loaning him immediately then that's fine.

But those weaknesses are a red flag. Not great in the air, not great in the tackle and not physical.

TBF, he tackles well, from what I saw in the highlights.

I'm more willing to trust the numbers over his entire season, though. Rather than look at an 9 min video. The guy above says his tackling % need to be higher and he's poor physically. As you'd expect.

I'd imagine this is surely a development type signing.

A loan to buy makes sense. Could he play all LC games, games on the plastic pitches, and teams in the bottom 4. Giving him 15-25 games. Developing him, plus not running KT in to the ground. Saving him for top 6, non plastic pitches and Europe. Makes sense. If it doesn't work out. Don't buy.

Although, you'd think there'd be better options out there with better potential to work in Europe.

Asia aren't really known for producing high level defenders, more for their midfielders and attackers

We of course had Du Wei, Cha Du Ri and Kobayashi, none were defensively competent enough domestically nevermind in Europe, I couldn't name you a single world class defender that's ever came from that part of the world, we were making a mockery of the lad Kim at Bayern who is apparently the best current Asian defender

Basically, shopping in Asia for a defender isn't the market I believe we should be targeting for that part of the pitch

Not gonna list the ones he wanted and one he had no clue about bcoz think it's pretty obvious to most supporters who's who and what category this lad would fall into

This doesn't make good reading. Plays for a * team, in a league that's known for being poor defensively. Can't tackle, can't head. Could maybe turn out well after a loan, who's going to take a lightweight defender on loan and give them game time in the hope that they'll come good?

What's going on with our scouting? It's like saying to someone, go and find me the nicest looking woman in the world, and they've went searching in larkhall and came back with someone who's face looks like it's been panned in with a shovel. "She could be a looker with extensive facial reconstructive surgery".

:giggle1: Cha Du Ri, had forgotten about him. He was useless but impossible not to like. Mind going off my nut at him right enough with that own goal in Europe. Still had that gormless big smile on his face

I have no interest in a Japanese centre-half. Not a physical league and the last one we had came highly recommended and was garbage. No thank you.

If he is coming in as a CB, I'd expect him to either go out on loan for a bit or he comes in as 4th choice

We do need 2 CB'S this summer. Nawrocki, Lagerbielke, Murray will all be gone this summer and I think one of Scales/Trusty will follow.

    Welsh to go as well.

So aye. 2 definitely required. Not sure whether I'd rather just keep Nawrocki than go for this guy though. Profile just doesn't seem suited other than ability on the ball.

https://www.sponichi.co.jp/soccer/news/2025/06/17/kiji/20250616s00002000356000c.htmlNiigata's big rookie, Junto Inamura, to transfer to Celtic - Left-footed CB with a reputation for kicking accuracy - Sponichi Annex Soccer

It was decided by the 16th that Celtic, a prestigious Scottish Premier League player, acquired Niigata's large rookie, DF Hayasho Inamura (Hayato, 23). According to several related parties, the negotiations are progressing smoothly, and they plan to sign a formal contract after a local medical check. Inamura, who is 1 metre 82 tall, is a left-handed centre back (CB) who is highly praised for his left-foot kick accuracy, although he has no national history. He switched to CB in the summer of his second year of Maebashi Ikuei High School, and at Toyo University, where he joined the first year, he won his first championship at the All-Japan University Championship in December last year, which was in his final year. In Niigata, he has been playing as a specially designated player since last season and has played in 12 league games. He also contributed to the runner-up of the Levin Cup. This season, which is in his first year as a professional, he has been established as a starting point from the start.

Celtic, who won the League Cup and the league this season, are enrolled in the Japanese national team FW Maeda and the MF flag bearer. Local media Herald also reported on this day that "Celtic is promoting a surprise transfer of Japanese DF Inamura".

◇Hayato Inamura (Hayato Inamura) was born on May 6, 2002 (Hei 14), a 23-year-old from Tokyo. He started playing soccer at the age of 5, FC Tokyo U-15 Fukagawa - Ikuei Maebashi - Toyo University. In the 23rd year of the 3rd year, he was appointed to join Niigata. You can kick long feeds without stepping. The favourite player is Johan Clive. 1 metre 82, 72 kilometres. The dominant foot is on the left.
