Well the past week our resident Robbins have been hard at work. Dad standing watch and mom sitting on her nest. I would think it should not be too long before the eggs hatch at this point. Below is a picture. You can just make out mom sitting on her nest. As you can see she did an amazing job of hiding her nest tucked away in the branch right outside our living room.

Our resident Robbin is a proud mom:57:Not sure how many she has yet but she has been working away feeding them since they hatched earlier this week. Saw a couple of tiny little beeks peeking up yesterday.

Sitting here, as I type, a male Blackbird is singing it's heart out in my back garden. Absolutely sensational

Yesterday I returned to a glorious part of Eryri National Park (Snowdonia) and got one of my target species the strikingly handsome Golden Ringed Dragonfly, the longest Dragonfly in our isles, well worth googling. Also once again I got good views of it's much smaller cousin the Beautiful Demoiselle, also well worth googling.

Many interesting insects were seen which is fantastic news because they are being hit for six in many parts. I also saw a patrolling male Goshawk, a male Hen Harrier ( very fitting as they were featured on last nights Springwatch) , Red Kite, Kestrel, a pair of Common Sandpipers protecting their nest site and a good variety of woodland birds.

I visited this lovely small bog pool I found on my last trip here and i had a good 40 minutes looking at the pool's residents such as Whirligig Beetles, Pond Skaters, Diving Beetles, a male Raft Spider, Damselflies and Dragonflies and Water Boatmen. I will take a net next time and try and catch the Tiger in here, the Great Diving Beetle.

No mammals seen, I will have to put that right next time.

PS The habitat here looks superb for the likes of Long Eared Owl and Nightjar, so one fine dusk I will visit here. It also looks good for possible wintering Great Grey Shrike in the future.

A few from Colgagh on Tuesday morning, i was delighted to get a pic of the two resident Grebe species and also a couple of the resident Otter as it made a very fleeting visit near to where i had my wee hide set up.

Saw an oystercatcher (thanks google!) this morning. Thought it was pretty cool and unusual but it ran away before I could get a clear pic or video.
