If @constant and @Ryanm1984 say don't do it, I'm more than happy to break our transfer record and wage structure to bring him back.

    Fairly self explanatory tbh pal.

If he wants to come back he’s obviously sorry he left. He’ll want to put that disastrous spell behind him. He’ll probably feel a bit of a * pushing for a move and want to make it up to Rodgers, the players and fans.

He’s arguably the best striker we’ve had in 20 years. We’ll be doing very well to find a better striker than him.

Fans can be fickle. I suppose we shouldn’t have resigned Jota and Tierney?

    Not exactly the same situation.

Both Jota and Tierney left having been excellent for us the season prior. Of course people will be glad having them back. Both are still fairly young too.

Kyogo was pretty poor during his time under Rodgers, and there were rumours as early as last year that he wanted to go. He's also 30, so he's not exactly a young player anymore.

I wouldn't be against bringing him in, but I understand why a lot of people have reservations. Even then, I'd only be happy bringing him in if we got another Striker, and that would be unlikely.

Basically his agents using our name to drum interest up and panic Brentford into signing him. In reality he'll end up at dumfermline with lenny. About summarises it.

He wanted to leave, was the right time to sell him to be fair and it would be pointless to have him back.

be a very lazy signing. We need to look at other targets

He wasn't * before he left. Rodgers destroyed his game. If you watched him you would have seen the effort he made, the runs into space he made where always there, it's just that they rarely played cutting balls forward. Sidey ways, backy ways, keep possession ways at all costs.

He'd do a great job if we became more of an 100 mph attacking team again. That won't happen under Rodgers.

This simply isn't true. His chance conversion rate went from 34% to 20% from Rodgers first season to his 2nd.

Yes, he was making the same runs etc but he was missing far too many chances.

He wasn’t performing at his best which could be because he was so keen to leave, so he wasn’t as focused. But remember his effort in his final game? He was desperate to score against YB.

I don’t want him back but I’ll always be fond of him and wish him the best.

Rodgers clearly never fancied him so it's all moot. Not the kind of striker he favours and there's little financial incentive given his age.

He was getting enough chances last season, he wasn’t taking them. We sold at the right time and we move on. He was a cracking player for us, and I really liked him as a player, but it was time to go.

    Still carrying that dodgy shoulder.

With a move on the horizon I am not sure if he gave us his all, was he getting into those areas where he could easily get hurt trying to score etc?

He's made his bed let him lay in it, he doesn't suit our style and is past his best.

We need a Dembele type imho.

Fantastic player for us, truly a joy to watch.

Would love to see him back/have stayed longer.
But at the same time, not gonna ache or pine for him to return.
Games moved on since he first arrived at Celtic.

At the same time, no point trying to call him * or anything, he was far from it.
At one stage there was legit comparisons (at least the questions being raised) if he could be the best since Larsson.
He remains in that discussion for sure.

Think purely based on never having a player like it before or after Larsson, id say Maeda is that for me now after last year. Can’t remember if it was Dundee or st Johnstone but Maedas chip after an unreal ball to him is the first goal in a long time I’ve blurted out wow at the tv! Hahah if we manage to keep him this year and play to his strengths from day one I think he’ll be unstoppable

It was revealed on the 19th that Japanese national team forward Kyogo Furuhashi (30) of the French first division club Rennes is likely to transfer to the English second division club Birmingham. According to sources, several European clubs are interested in acquiring Furuhashi, who has struggled at Rennes. The most enthusiastic of them all is Birmingham, who are aiming to return to the Premier League for the first time since 2010-11, and Furuhashi himself is said to be positive about the transfer

Furuhashi made a surprise transfer from Celtic, where he won many titles, to Rennes in January 2025, but due to factors such as a change in manager shortly after, he only played in six league games and scored no goals. Next season is the World Cup year. To be included in the team, consistent appearances at the club are essential, and Furuhashi is also highly rated, so it seems he is considering a transfer to a club where he will have a higher chance of playing time. Birmingham was relegated

to the third division in the 2023-2024 season, but won the third division in the 2024-2025 season, returning to the second division in just one year. Among them, former Japan national team midfielder Tomoki Iwata (28), who played with Furuhashi at Celtic, led the team with his performance and was selected as one of the best eleven of the season. If the transfer is realized, it will be a great support for forward Furuhashi. The goal scorer who dominated Scotland will be aiming to make a comeback in his new home, aiming for promotion to the Premier League for the first time in 16 seasons and to make the long-awaited World Cup team.
