We were definitely still “monitoring” him a month or so ago.

He’s always brought up as us having him in mind this summer when the subject comes up with the guys in the media on SSB, not the ex players but it feels like almost an afterthought not one thats the guy we absolutely want and will go * for leather (well Celtic’s version of that anyway) to bring in.

I think he’d be one we would have no idea about any interest if his side wasn’t so public about it. He done an interview about it as well didn’t he? If it’s the one I’m thinking he is anyway.

There is a * of a lot of players that we do that with through the years. An option, rather than a priority. His fee and our willingness to pay that is not the norm, but that alone makes me feel like we’re finally growing as a club and adjusting our ambition. Long time coming that, we’ve treated transfer fees like it’s 2009 still, and 2009 we treated the market like we were Celtic in the early 90’s. £7m for this guy is it? We would usually be £3m types. But £7m now is probably what we think of as a £3m type level of signing. We’re just finally catching up a bit I think. I hope

Tbh I'd sign all three of them.

Kuhn is for the off, Forrest is another year older and freeing up Maeda to play through the middle more often.

Jota, Balikwisha, Moro, Orjasaeter and Forrest is decent depth on the wings, especially with Jota out until Christmas.

Maeda and Puado up top as options.

    Kvistgaarden to cover all areas.

    Champions League winners 2025/26.

Is it very safe to suspect Maeda is off , regardless of any signings or speculation. He hasn't wanted to sit down about a new contract for months and is back in Japan. His agent will have been working on a move for a while .

I suspect seeing his new born baby for the 1st time trumped discussions about a new contract tbh

Did he not only sign a new 4 or 5 year deal the season previous?

Celtic have reopened talks over a potential deal for Sarpsborg winger Sondre Ørjasæter.

It’s understood the Hoops face competition from clubs in Germany and The Netherlands for the 21-year-old, but no concrete offers are on the table as things stand.

Sky Sports News revealed in January that Celtic had a £4.6m bid rejected, with Sarpsborg holding out for a fee of around £7m.

Speaking about the Celtic interest, Ørjasæter said in April: "They were pretty brutal days for me in January. I struggled to sleep.

"I didn't know if I was going to be in Norway or not. "I could have moved at any moment.

"I had to carry my passport with me everywhere."

It’s unclear as to whether Sarpsborg will be more open to selling him this summer.

Celtic are on the hunt for another winger in the transfer window.

Royal Antwerp’s Michel-Ange Balikwisha is also another long-term target for the Scottish champions

Hope we sign him, I mind him from January and the clips of him looked really good, had a natural swagger and skill and class about him, looked really technical on the ball.
