One name that remains very much active on the club’s shortlist is Michel-Ange Balikwisha. The Belgian international has been monitored for some time, and we’ve learned that he is still regarded as a top target for the Scottish champions.

Balikwisha is currently playing for Belgian side Royal Antwerp and has one year remaining on his contract, which expires in June 2026 [TransferMarkt]. With the winger eligible to sign a pre-contract as early as January, Antwerp look set to cash in this summer rather than risk losing him for free next year.

The same names keep popping up. Must be something in it.

If we are looking at him and likes of Kvistgaarden we can't drag our heels. I would love to see a pre season with our new signings being bedded in for the CL qualification games. It just makes sense

Not that fussed about him. He doesn't look to have the level of pace I think we need. Jota is already relatively "slow" compatively with Kuhn and Maeda. Which is fine, but I'd rather have another explosive type winger as its an equaliser in Europe.

In saying that he's entering the last year of his deal so you're talking maybe 3-4m. At that price I'd take but I'd quite like someone else too. Ship out Yang.

Don’t think he looks that slow tbh… Olise from Bayern for example isn’t exactly the quickest winger in the world but I would bite your hand off for that kind of inverted winger who would rack up goals and assists.

Rodger’s like pace but doesn’t have to be blistering pace , Rodger’s would rather a winger who can go inside or out which hinders the full back rather than just a running arch with him

Thought he looked a bit one paced if I'm honest. Type that relies heavily on cutting in. I don't mind that but think we've faired better in Europe last year largely due to our speed up top at times.

Just not one I'm overly excited by and that's perhaps also due to his injury record.

If he signs, and I hope he does too, then I think he will rotate with Jota on the left.

He's been very well scouted, good height 5'10', can play on both wings, and tracks back well for defensive cover.
It would be another significant chess piece in the rebuild plan for next season.

Height: Approximately 1.77 to 1.78 meters (5 ft 9 in to 5 ft 10 in).
Weight: Around 69 to 70 kg (about 152 to 154 lbs).
He is right-footed and typically wears the number 10 jersey.
His build is athletic and agile, suitable for a forward or winger role.

Positionally, Balikwisha is versatile in the attacking front, primarily playing as a forward or attacking midfielder, often deployed on the wings (left or right) or centrally behind the striker.
    • Known for his pace, dribbling, and ability to take on defenders, he combines technical skill with good movement off the ball.
    • He contributes both goals and assists, showing an attacking mindset with creativity and the ability to find scoring opportunities.
    • His style involves quick transitions and exploiting spaces on the flanks, making him effective in wide attacking roles.
Balikwisha's influence in games is marked by his work rate and involvement in build-up play, often helping to unlock defenses with his agility and ball control.

In summary, Michel-Ange Balikwisha is a physically agile and technically skilled forward/winger with a versatile attacking profile, capable of playing across the front line and contributing both goals and creative play for Royal Antwerp

I think we need different options in the wing positions, and that was before the Jota injury. Yang is pretty quick but his footballing brain just doesn’t cut it. This boy at least looks like he knows when to cut the ball across or go inside … Yang against Aberdeen in the cup final was in a position to cut the ball across the face of goal at speed or maybe shoot but ended up hitting the side netting.

I take your point in the sense that we don’t want another Palma who just didn’t have the ability to go on the outside and take on his winger and slowed the game down whenever he took on the ball…. But if KT is overlapping on his side it could obviously help things.

Injury record is a bit concerning though.

I agree about the different options.

I'd take this guy for £3m and then sign Orjasaeter as well who seems a bit more pacey and direct. That's 10m say on two options.

    Bali
    Orjasaeter
    Jota (not back till January)
    Kuhn (or replacement)
Maeda (floating in between out wide and ST)

    Forrest used sparingly. Punt yang.

Aye that would be the perfect scenario for me too … the Norwegian boy looks a player I really hope we sign him regardless of Kuhns future plans.

I'm definitely in the Orjasaeter over this guy camp..

Orjasaeter is the one I want in more than anyone..

This guy did seem to pick up some form again but I'm no convinced. I want a quick ball carrier. He looks like he picks up pockets and has nice one twos etc and decent goal contributions but Orjasaeter over him..

Sounds like this could be the first bit of money spent this window, then.
