    Greg Taylor
will call time on his six-year spell at Celtic by signing for PAOK within the next 48 hours.

The Celtic Way understands that Taylor has agreed to join the Greek outfit after agreeing on personal terms and a two-year deal with a one-year option.

Taylor, who was out of contract at the end of last season, had been keeping his options open after Brendan Rodgers announced that Celtic were bringing back Scotland left-back Kieran Tierneyfrom Arsenal in the summer.

PAOK boss Razvan Lucescu had prioritised signing Taylor in the summer, and it looks like they have finally landed the 27-year-old on a free transfer.

The player is currently on a family holiday in Dubai and has never played outside of Scotland before, but has now finally confirmed that he has accepted the Greeks' proposal after significant progress was made over the weekend.

Taylor and his partner, Laura, recently gave birth to their first daughter, Ruvie, in February.

The left-back who joined Celtic from Kilmarnock in 2019, made over 200 appearances for the men in green and white and won five Scottish Premiershiptitles as well as three Scottish Cups and three Scottish League Cups.

PAOK finished third in the Greek Super League last season and will enter the Europa League at the third qualifying round stage.

Halloumi mainly comes from Cyprus and Egypt. He'll get some great souvlaki in Salonica, although the locals call it sandwich and are borderline offended if anyone calls it souvlaki. :56:

Hold no ill will against him.

Tried his best when he was asked to play. Done well adapting to a new style of football which suited him actually.

But being honest if Celtic really do want to kick on then the likes of him and Scales shouldn't be viable long term starters. The fact he's off to PAOK kind of says where his level is. Good luck to him and I'm sure he's getting a tidy wage for his troubles.

https://www.sdna.gr/podosfairo/1320...or-zitise-hrono-emeis-theloyme-amesa-apantisiWhat PAOK says about Taylor: "He asked for time, we want an immediate answer" | SDNA

Although Greg Taylor asked for time to respond to PAOK's proposal, the Scots "see" definitive developments in the case - What the latest reports say.

According to a Scottish media outlet that deals exclusively with Celtic news: " Greg Taylor is about to complete his six-year career at Celtic, as he will continue his career at PAOK and in fact, the agreement regarding a three-year contract will be finalized tomorrow, Tuesday!"

PAOK were looking for a left-back and despite the fact that they were considering several players across Europe and South America, they gave priority to Taylor after learning that he was free for this and were quick to agree with him. Taylor will have the opportunity to compete with his new team in the Europa League while he was looking for a new challenge in his career, which PAOK offers him

The truth is that the proposal of the Double-Header concerns a contract for 2+1 years and the 27-year-old Scottish full-back requested time credit from the Thessaloniki team in order to weigh every parameter before his final decision. The ball has clearly passed into Taylor's court and a decision is expected soon on whether he will leave his homeland for the first time, having recently become a father, to try his hand abroad...

It’s not a financial decision (or at least that’s not what’s driving a potential). He fancies a new challenge and his other half fancies a move abroad.

He would be better staying and being rotated with Tierney.

Big risk moving abroad with a new baby, when he has a settled position here, and guaranteed to get plenty game time, with an injury prone Tierney.

What's the actual risk if he's well paid?

In all seriousness I believe Vesuvius or Phlegraean Fields will erupt again within the next 100 years. Santorini’s volcanic activity has been worrying too recently. It’s been a while since the last major eruption and I think the med is due a huge volcanic catastrophe. Based on the impact the last big ones had too it will be a shock for the world.

Back to unserious-ness though, hopefully not during Greg’s Greek holiday :giggle1:
