Be really interesting to see where he goes next, can’t see him staying in the EPL. Maybe the 49ers will make a move? :fear:

Agree but at the start of the season if spurs fans were told “this season you’ll qualify for the champions league and you’ll win a trophy” they’d have seen that as a huge success.
Ange has done exactly that regardless of league position.

in 10 years no one will remember their league position, only the trophy they’ve won this year.

Hope Ange gets paid £££ and gets picked up by a club with a winning mentality from top to bottom unlike spurs.

Winning mentality? They just had their worst league season in 50 years, losing 22 games. He inherited a decent squad, spent over half a billion euros and finished 17th in the league. They were defensively atrocious, you can get away with that here with celtic but not when other teams have world class players. Don't think he'll be managing in a top 5 league anytime soon, probably end up in MLS.

Yes. See that European trophy they were parading only the other week on an open top bus? That would suggest it.

Spurs have the 14th highest wagebill in europe, every team they beat along the way, they had a massive advantage over and should of been beating, beside United who they beat in the final without a shout on target. I'll repeat, he spent 516,505,000 euros in 2 season and finished 17th.

What's your point? He won a trophy at a team even bigger managers couldn't. He's left them in a remarkable position with some excellent young players.

    17th with a trophy and champions league or 5th. I know what's I'd choose.

    Blah blah blah blah.

Winning a trophy is the ONLY way to be described as a winner, so * up :56::56::56::56:

The season before last spurs as a club showed they didn’t have the winning mentality Ange wanted when he fell out with the fans for wanting them to lose to city when champions league was still an option. Just so Arsenal wouldn’t win the title.

My original post literally said the league wasn’t good enough, not sure why you only cut the last bit :67:

mad laugh though you think a europa league winning manager will only get a job in the MLS

He will go on to a decent European club and Spurs will return to a comfortable mediocrity. He'll get added to the list of names that tried to reform the club only to get tossed out on their *.

It is a strange one if you offered spurs fans at the start of the season a 5th place league finish and no cups or 17th and the Europa surely most pick the second option. That being said for the money spent the league form has been disgraceful and I'm not surprised in the slightest he's out the door

Can’t stand spurs and their fans but was delighted Ange won a trophy and shut up the media . He’s better out of that toxic club and won’t be out of work long if he wants something.

    I'm not surprised he's away.

Makes sense for both parties. He leaves on a high and Spurs get their trophy and a chance at a fresh start into next season.

The league form was genuinely awful. I haven't seen a side so open and easy to beat as they were last season. Certainly not one that's deemed to be "top 6" in England. I mean.

Even when they went 2 goals up I didn't fancy them to see out a game.

I'm sure he will sort another job.

I expected him to get the boot. The fear their board must have is Ange sticking to his normal tactics, which don't work.

Would love him to end up at a big European side who have lost their way a bit. Someone like AC Milan would be ideal, and mean a lot to him.

A great shout but the italian clubs are to busy hiring ex players and completely useless managers. Its actually impressive how bad they appoint in Italy.

Spurs fans will say hes not good enough for the epl.

Some managers just have trouble adapting their ideas to a particular league.

Iriola got sacked for 20 game run without a win ...in CYPRUS.

Ange simply isnt suited to the "English game", and he doesnt have the mega millions to incorporate his philosophy.

He should leave with his head held high, take a mid table side in La Liga or Serie A, and watch the plaudits roll in.
