Daizen Maeda

Against the best teams, we can kiss goodbye any form of composure we think we have in Scotland. The only thing we do have, is a man who runs so much that it looks like we're a man up. And that matters a lot. Bayern did not talk much about Engels or McGregor after the first game. No. Their team talk was about Maeda. The only player in our team that is world-class at something.

in any other scenario multi millionaire gets to leave bogging scotland to go sun himself in turkey for a year or two with wage increase seems like a no brainer.

I think Celtic will bite. Brendan of course will be at the end of his tether and will want at least 2 10m+ signings to compensate

 

Pretty wild there's a narrative starting to form that he'll fall away next season. I get the argument but surely a guy that's put in a season like he has deserves the chance to build on it? Seems crazy to me that anyone would actively look to be moving him on.

That said, I do reckon Daizen himself is looking for a move. Fair dos if that's the case, but hopefully am wrong on that one.

 

I have no idea if Daizen himself is looking for a move like Kyogo was last season. But I highly doubt we as a club are looking to sell him. If Daizen wants to move himself we should not be settling for anything less then a new club record selling fee.

 

May not replicate his form but he has unique qualities money won't replace. No sale for me.

 

Tbh can get behind most of what you say here, but I'd omit the 'not replicating his form' but entirely. Don't think that should be anywhere near the conversation considering how much he improved his technical side this season.

 

Hope he stays unbelievable player not many players in the world have his work ethics huge loss if he goes hopefully not

 

Why do people think he'll be gone?

Nothing to suggest that outside of speculation. Hate how every time we have a player of the year he's always apparently away in the summer.

That doesn't have to always be the case.

 

I want him to stay but it's usually the way it goes for us, and teams at our level in general. He's been the standout player domestically and shown up really well in europe, his pressing was key and even the better teams got caught out by him a bit, there will definitely be interest from bigger leagues.

 

He's got 2 years left on his deal. We very rarely let key players get down to last year of their deal. He either signs a new deal within the next month or we are likely going to sell him this window

 

He is a family man , he will absolutely be moving on and getting a big pay day and I don't blame him .

 

Cos he's supposedly told the club he wants to move on
