What * would be stupid enough to sign on in Turkey. He can get a Prem or La Liga club no bother and his wages in every week.

File under pish, even though it would still be a healthy profit against his original fee, there's one thing the people in charge don't do is undervalue our assets, he's at peak age, had the season of his career attacking numbers wise on top of his frankly irreplaceable workrate for the team, unless he's actually forcing a move we probably don't even reply to anything less than 20m minimum.

Obviously I really hope we get Maeda to sign an extension rather then leave but if he does leave this summer there is no way he should be leaving for anything less then a club record fee for a sale.

    Would sell him for £25-30m.

I don't see him replicating this seasons form and think the club would press go on anything near that for someone in their late 20s.

Issue is we can't lose 4 or 5 of the spine.

Podcast about transfer updates (Ryan118 might have been?) has Fenerbache sticking in a €10m bid? Surely no? That’s * insulting if anything

To be honest I think that'd be incredible if we got near that.

He's won me over this season but I would never have imagined 12 months ago, him being talked about for that kind of fee.

As I say, it's more his age and the likelihood of him ever repeating that sort of form that's making me think that. My caveat is also always that I'd want the majority of thst invested into the squad. Which doesn't happen.

For this reason, I'd rather keep him. If it means to let him run his contract out, fine. He is impossible to replace, unless we took a good hard look in Japan. Which we haven't done since Ange left.

Certain attributes of his are going to be unlikely to replace e.g. Stamina and pace.

But I don't believe he is impossible to replace in terms of his footballing qualities. Definitely not.

I actually think his technical ability will be far more exposed in leagues such as the EPL or La Liga.

There's no way anyone will pay north of £15M.
Daizen has made an incredible contribution but also has obvious limitations that will put a ceiling on the level of club that will come in for him.

Then we keep him. £15M is insufficient compensation for what we would lose. I will forever tolerate his poor technique because he is like playing with 12 men.

    Yeah it definitely would be.

I don't think the level of club who'd pay that amount will be in for him. Time will tell.

I'm good to keep him and let his contract run down, assuming he's a happy bunny about it too.

Not sure if he has major desires to leave Celtic though?
With a young family I'd imagine a move would be to get back to Asia/Japan, but what clubs over there are gonna be able to afford the fee, assuming it's double figures?

If he goes, it will be to Bundesliga, IMO. They love East Asian players, and they love their Gegenpress.

Imo he would be worth 20/25 mill to a relegation battling prem team for his defensive contribution alone.

So much of his game is based around workrate and engine that I think a lot of clubs will be thinking how many years left does he have playing at that intensity. Because once that goes there will be a massive drop off in his level.

I don't know how much he will go for, but it has to be more than 10 million euros! I think he'd suit a newly promoted team in the EPL to be honest. They'd have the money and his workrate is exactly what that kind of team needs. I wouldn't sell him for less than 15 million (pounds not euros), though.

Japanese players tend to last long. If Maeda avoids big injuries, he should remain an athletic player well into his 30-s.

He may have burnt himself out by then.Take the £15M and run.

He is very limited technically and starting to miss sitters as bad as Kyogo did.

It's composure in front of goal that counts in football.

Trust me, I know what I'm talking about.
