Fair enough if he has and I haven’t seen it. Whenever I’ve seen him he’s seems to constantly be laughing off the criticism.

Their campaign certainly hasn’t been outstanding

The whole prioritising Europe thing doesn't wash with me. Easy for him to say that now he's won the EL.

Even with their injuries, there's no excuse for losing 22 out of 38 league games and finishing 17th.

I'd love to have Ange back at Celtic and I think he's a much better manager than people in England think; but I think that league position just can't happen. If they had finished midtable and won the EL, it might be arguable; but to finish one position above the relegation zone is totally unacceptable. I think Ange himself would be the first to agree.

Scenes when he wins the CL and gets them relegated next year. :giggle1:

Agree, and if you look at the squads he was choosing from fit players they were full strength. It wasn’t like he was picking unknown players.

I’ll give him his “told ya so” tho cos I know Id be the same with the amount of stick the pundits and press have given him down there. I’d have said some way worse things after being on the * a week straight :56:

He rarely had a full strength team to pick from. But he didn’t do anything to mitigate that, and just looking his first season at Celtic, the December we had no strikers barely any players with a weak squad, we know he can. He done it to win the Europa as well. He decided not to,

Watching Forster against Utd was it 4-3 in the cup game? Falling to pieces not being allowed to not try and ape Ederson and absolutely falling apart, that is what he done all year.

They have a very similar thing that Ange had here. They need Van de Ven playing, and they are good when it’s him and Romero.

For us, we required CCV and were flawless when it was him and Starfelt. And when we didn’t have them, we sent players on to try and do what they did. And they couldn’t. And that’s what he done this year at Spurs

Our replacements are still ahead of the rest of the league so he somewhat got off with that here. Doesn't wash when your not miles ahead of the rest down there.

That December they weren’t, we had Turnbull up front at one point. A boy grabbed from the youths with Abada next to him, he changed to 352. He changed to suit is my point. He absolutely made sure to make us solid at the back and just get the result. And handed responsibility to guys he knew he could trust, Tam Rogic was that. He set up or scored every goal that was a winning goal that spell.

Then December 29th before the window even opened he made sure he had his main targets signing. And then he had the squad, and then we had the style. But when a threadbare already squad was wrecked with injuries? He just won. He just made sure get a team out and do whatever to make that work. He didn’t do that with Spurs. I think it might be because the stick he was getting in the media, he felt changing would be admitting they are right. He can get right wound up by press. Wins the battles against them usually, we loved that but * does get to him.

Romero for me anytime I see him is usually * and a liability. The Europa final motm was the only game I’ve seen him perform well haha!

van de ven I totally agree, as CCV was here, is needed for the team to perform right. Archie gray did brilliantly when asked to play CB and that Danso they signed is good too. It’s not “full strength” but they should have definitely done better.

Vicario is so * too, Forster just can’t pass but saved their arses so much when he was playing.

they’ve got some insane youth prospects arriving this year in the CB vuskovic who for me will be playing alongside van de ven this year and a few others they’ve got in early with.

does he get the chance to see the project out? I’m not so sure levy wants him in charge

Tottenham Hotspur have decided to sack Ange Postecoglou, sources have told Football Insider.

Spurs’ formal stance is that no final decision has yet been made, as chairman Daniel Levy has been out of the country in recent weeks.

However, Football Insider has now learned that the Tottenham hierarchy have decided to end Postecoglou’s reign in North London, just over a week after he delivered their first trophy in 17 years.

Tottenham chiefs have been waiting for the emotions of their Europa League triumph in Bilbao to dissipate, and also test the temperature of supporters in North London.

But the club are now pressing ahead with finding a new manager, and it is expected that they will formally announce the departure of Postecoglou in the next few days.

The Australian, 59, will pay the price for a disastrous Premier League campaign that saw the Lilywhites limp to their worst-ever finish of 17th, with a record 22 defeats and 65 goals conceded.

Tottenham are believed to have already made some progress in sounding out potential replacements for Postecoglou once his sacking is confirmed, Football Insider has been told.

Brentford’s Thomas Frank, Fulham’s Marco Silva and Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola all have admirers in the Spurs boardroom, with proven Premier League calibre and the ability to develop players among the most desired attributes for candidates.

Football Insider revealed on 4 May that Silva in particular will be the most “open to discussions” with Tottenham as he weighs up his Fulham future, but there is no stand-out contender at this stage.

Postecoglou’s future has been in the balance since Tottenham’s form began to nosedive midway through the Premier League season, and his prioritisation of the Europa League won’t be enough to save his job.

As Iraola edges closer to penning a new contract at Bournemouth, Spurs’ attention could soon turn fully to Silva and Frank as more gettable options to succeed Postecoglou.

Frank’s contract at Brentford includes a release clause, which Levy has historically been hesitant to pay, while the riches of the Saudi Pro League could see them lose out in the race to sign Silva this summer.

As good as winning the Europa was, finishing 17th for Spurs is nowhere near good enough, a bad season for them would be finishing below 10th, let alone 17th.

At the same time, Spurs are perennial losers, so Ange will land on his feet easily elsewhere.

He won them a European trophy so regardless of what happens he'll always have that. They should be incredibly grateful to him for finally delivering some big success.

If he has left then I hope they get relegated.

    A disgusting decision, if true.

Of course, absolutely no denying their league campaign was almost as worse as it could be, but a European trophy was won, and the club gained a spot in the CL - pretty much what they would have defined as a fantastic season had they finished high enough up the table to get CL qualification.

    * English fitbaw anyway....

    Onwards and upwards Ange.

Steer clear of another English team would be my general advise. One or two may be interesting as projects to show his style, but not big enough to be winning silverware any time soon.

Get yourself to Germany or Spain, better style and appreciation for his approach.
