With zero context, it's not respectable. It's not terrible but isn't great. Then you add the context that is required in literally all forms of life and you get to make a measured decision.

20 years old, had a really bad injury, has largely played the majority of his career off the bench in the most competitive league in the world, meaning his goal to minute ratio is actually far better than you're giving him credit for.

And I think you're doing a disservice to the majority of people in here who comment on players stats. There is a large degree of context with the majority of them. What type of league does he play in, how old is he, what sort of player is he, what sort of style of play is he used to, is he pacey... literally loads of context is added based off the stats alone.

 

A loan deal for Evan Ferguson would not be a bad idea.

I have a feeling Maeda will move on in the summer along with Hatate, which would leave us with just Idah and Kenny for the striker role, pretty thin on the ground.

It would also give Ferguson a real chance to kick start his career again.

 

I've seen people get excited over Ferguson these couple of days, and decided to have a look at his stats. I expected a 1 in 3 goal return, at least. I know he's Irish, but so is Idah, and I wish people were more content with a good striker we have.

 

Idah had scored 17 goals in 116 games for Norwich with the majority of them coming in the Championship. He's also 3 and a half years older than Ferguson.

Ferguson also has 17 goals, but in 88 games for Brighton and West Ham, all coming while both teams have been in the Premier League. You're praising the signing of Idah, who had awful stats compared to Ferguson at a weaker standard.

Idah's stats with us have been good, though. Ferguson's not been good with Brighton. If he were good, he wouldn't be available anyway, but in either case, there's better options out there.

Kyogo wanted out of our league and his hit rate had declined over the last 18 months, I'd still have him ahead of Idah if he was here for his movement/workrate alone but don't see him returning, doesn't make sense for either party.

 

Kyogo coming back would be extremely lazy by us. He was declining the last year or so and he wanted away. Can't see him wanting to come anyway.
