Paris Saint-Germain to sign Kosugi! The strong-hearted defender who played in Sweden and is a member of the U20 Japan national team is also of interest to Celtic

On the 27th, it was revealed that Paris Saint-Germain (SG), a prestigious French first division club that has advanced to the European Champions League (CL) final, is moving to acquire U-20 Japan national team defender Keita Kosugi (19) from Swedish first division club Djurgården. According to multiple sources, they have already been in contact behind the scenes. Some media outlets have reported that the probability of acquiring him is 40%.

Kosugi, who mainly plays as a left back, is known for his speed and strength in one-on-one play. He grew up in Shonan's youth academy and joined Djurgården in March last year without being promoted to the top team. His strong heart is also a weapon, and he made his professional debut in May of the same year and became a regular player. This season in the Europa Conference League, he played in 11 games and scored two goals, helping the team reach the semi-finals, demonstrating his full potential on the European stage.

This season, PSG won the league and the French Cup for the fourth consecutive year. They are aiming for a treble in the European Champions League. Kosugi has long been aiming to transfer to a big club and win the Champions League, and multiple clubs, including Celtic and Serie A powerhouse Atalanta, have shown interest in him, leading to a fierce battle for him. Attention is focused on the decision of this young hopeful, who could have been selected for the national team for the first time in next month's World Cup qualifiers.

Left back. PSG would send him out on loan, while we need a LB to play a fair bit of games over the course of the season. Hoping our experience with Japanese players gives us an edge.

He looks rapid, and it's never a bad sign when a team like PSG are linked.

Wouldn't be against playing Tierney at centre half if it was easier for us to get a decent body in at left back. Especially domestically, when you see the amount scales has the ball in acres of space past the halfway line.

Would be the ideal understudy to Tierney.

This is the kinda youngster you'd want in with KT. Would get plenty game time and exciting..

Already playing regularly in a league no too dissimilar to ours and better actually bar us and the other mob..

Only if it's a straight buy though. No loaned off PSG..

Looks like a real talent. I bet he'll become a starter if we sign him, especially against teams parking the bus.

Tierney won't be a CB, he'll be rested in the league. If Rodgers has any brain.

Knowing our luck we play Tierney and him then we have scales at LB for 6 months when he twists his knee at Livi.

I forgot Livi came up the other day :censored::censored:

Wouldn't be putting Tierney anywhere near the likes of Livingston, Falkirk and Kilmarnock next season. This is where a player like this would be ideal.

Like @McChiellini.. says, not through a straight loan off PSG though, would need to be on a permanent deal.
