Celtic’s Champions League play-off will take place on August 16/17 and 26/27, with the draw due to be made on August 4.

 

Good news. Will obviously still be tough with Welsh and Scales at cb (tongue in cheek, but only just!)

 

It's only us and Aberdeen that are guaranteed any group phase action if we * up qualifying. I had assumed Hibs would parachute into the Conference group and the Huns into Europa but no guarantees for either if they * it.

Huns could have no Europe while the sheep are guaranteed it


Now, before I say the next bit, I 100% want us in the UCL and wouldn't actively not want us to qualify.
However, considering the new setup with UEFA competitions, where we can't parachute down after the league phase, I wouldn't be too disheartened to end up in the Europa League, being fairly confident we would qualify through to the knockout and could have a decent run in the competition.

Ach listen mate is what it is. Just gutted we didnt get it over the line. Had a feeling all week. Been poor on and off for months now. Season done and players back 4 weeks tomorrow so hopefully a few new faces come that day but wont hold out much hope as ye know what we are like!

 

Who are the 15 potential teams we can meet. Hopefully a big few scalps eliminated early and make life easier for us.

 

We can't be confident about coming up against anyone if our team continues to play the way we have been since Christmas. Any performance like that one on Saturday would see us getting pumped out at the first go. So several new first team ready players required in the door ASAP in order to be ready for whoever we come up against and hopefully we can get rid of the passengers in our team who just aren't good enough in the process

 

Correct baldy could be a dampener on the season before the window is shut!

At least we avoid Bodo/Glimt in play offs and will be in pot 4 in league phase

24 of the teams are from 5 countries... Representation of the European Champions my *! It's exactly the European Superleague they want, just with EUFA's fat snout still in the trough...
