I don't say this off the back of yesterday. But Rodgers has spent 40 odd mill and not one of those players is worth more today than we spent on them. Ins and outs are great but Rodgers needs to get lot more out of what he has

Prob not a lot when you consider 11 players are due back from loan at the end of June...

I don't believe in any list like that but if I had my way it would be

    Palma
    Lagerbielke
    Tilio
    Nawrocki
    Holm
    Bernardo
    Welsh
    Kwon
    Yang
I'd loan out Kenny with a view to turning a profit on him when selling after
    Let Taylor go

    I suspect
    Kuhn (the most obvious)
    Trusty (Rodgers doesn't fancy him)
One of Hatate, Carter-Vickers or Maeda to be sold..

See the trusty thing thats 2 CB he has apparently identified Nawrocki and Trusty and doesn't fancy either of them makes me wonder if he can spot a player at all!

Was Nawrocki really a Rodgers signing? I doubt it. He was just back in the door and was very vocal about leaving the recruitment side of things to what was working well under Ange. Obviously that's changed a bit since then and he's had more of a say..

In all likelihood, we’ll probably sign no more than 4 or 5: a CB; a MF; and two attackers (winger and striker). Maybe 2 midfielders if we push the boat out. Fair enough, if those 4 or 5 are better than what we already have, but if they’re not, then, what the * are we at?

Good thread lads, fair play. Some good takes here.

He said if everyone stays he wanted 3 maybe 4. Then he said some of the lads who have been here for 3 or 4 years will naturally want to move on and there is a few who fall into that bracket. Not to mention Jota is potentially out until February worst case!

BIG STRONG PHYSICAL PLAYERS WHO CAN PLAY A BIT AND DON'T GET BULLIED. Then, maybe, we won't look like wee boys when we line up in the CL games

Take with pinch of salt but guy at weans football team said we offered that Burnley captain a deal on a bosman a few weeks back first time he has ever said anything like that also said we are watching the Greek boy at Brugge who plays upfront. They fit the bill of big and strong

Fair enough, but I can’t see us bringing in 6 or 7, even if a few first-team players leave - and certainly not 6 or 7 high quality signings.

Few have said that but if you lost a core of 3 or 4 you would need it. Time will tell.

Some proper dirt on that list.. interesting summer ahead as usual but will we see anything significant because we are not guaranteed CL football?

That Greek boy Tzolis' a key player for them and killing it. Would be 20 plus mill easy..

We have to. We can't be * about this summer..

Tzolis? isn’t big or strong but there is no way we are getting him. I can’t think of any other Greek players there. He will most likely go to a top league if he goes anywhere.

Brownhill does seem to have been rumoured in quite a few places. I would be delighted to get him.

See the talk of 4 or 5 in it will be more than that. Here are the numbers in from the last summer windows including permanents and loans.

    24/25 - signed 8
    23/24 - signed 10
    22/23 - signed 9
    21/22 - signed 12
    20/21 - signed 5 (Covid year)
    19/20 - signed 9
    18/19 - signed 6
    17/18 - signed 5
    16/17 - signed 6

So post Covid we have averaged over 9 signings each summer. Apart from 21/22 where we lost several first team players we have only really lost 2 first team regulars at most a season.

We are carrying far too many players who don’t have a future at Celtic. I wouldn’t call them deadwood though like some previous seasons as despite being sold at a loss, I do think we can recoup some funds from the likes of Lagerbielke, Palma, Nawrocki, Yang and selling Welsh as one of our own players is viewed as purely profit. However Tilio and Kwon is just a case of finding someone to take them off our hands.
