It's a hard one to take but fair play to the sheep, their defence was excellent.

    But... :31:

We weren’t great by any stretch of the imagination however, the keeper sold the jerseys today, no other way to look at it. Absolutely brutal.

We're lucky the Huns have been as * as they've been again the bottom 10. They took 7 points in Glasgow to our 4 and we baw haired it against them in the league cup final. For the money we've spent we have been really poor. Need to get rid of some * in the summer and get some decent players in before the champions league qualifier otherwise that will be a very difficult game.

Obviously gutted but we can't win everything all the time. The law of averages and that.

Still a fairly successful season and progress in the CL so let's see what the summer brings. Big changes ahead I'm sure.

Since there are no UEFA places available for the League cup I feel Celtic should pull out of it as it only puts our players at risk for no reward.
Let them concentrate on League, SC and Europe.
It would also rest our players for at least 4 matches.
Either that or have Winners take the bottom qualifying place for Europe which is UEFA Conference league.

That Depeche Mode when we score!!
In any sport sometimes the Script goes out the window. But as the dust settles in it is more than obvious that Celtic then Aberdeen followed by Falkirk had easily the best 2024/25 season. And if anyone one was 4th that would be Hibernian.

Way I look at yesterday is that we didn't deserve to stumble to a treble. Stuttering against rangers and clearly signs of taking the foot of the gas at certain points in the season. The game should have been well won in 90 and it was pretty pathetic from kasper. Rodgers needs to have a serious look at his tactics and hopefully we will get some signings in early.

As much as I'm annoyed at Celtic, I wanna give credit to Aberdeen. They executed their game plan near-flawlessly.

We didn’t deserve a treble. You’ve no earn it, we were nowhere near good enough to win it. From start to finish our whole play was slow and predictable. We’ve had a few wake up calls this season and even in a final we still didn’t wake up. Not good enough. No we can’t win everything, people are right but I expect us to put in a performance in a final on the cusp of a treble. If you can’t get yourself up for that then there’s the door. I can take a defeat if we’re outplayed, not when your attitude is completely wrong. We’ve a massive summer coming up clearing out the amount of * in this squad.

Ralston (don’t think he’ll go but he should, AJ knows he’s no competition)
    Taylor (out of contract)
    Schlupp (not good enough)
Scales (don’t even start me on him)
Trusty (£5m can’t get in ahead of the above)
    Lagerbielke (£3m, isn’t rated)
Nawrocki (£3m, isn’t fancied by BR)
    Palma (£3.4m, horrendous)
    Idah (£9m, pathetic)
    Yang (£2.1m, *)
Kenny (£125k, league of Ireland level)

Probably more players could be added to that list I’d happily see leave.

I’ve tried to calm down, but…..

Rogers needs to answer for that yesterday.

Whatever his personal vendetta against Nawrocki is, it is to the detriment of the team - our team

Kuhn has been (as polite as I can say) out of sorts for a wee while now and to not start Forrest is beyond comprehension.

The major problem up top is that by shifting Maeda back left to play Idah has resulted in a dip in his form. He had gotten used to being central and we have * it up to accommodate Idah. I like Idah and I want him to succeed, but we had a cup to win. All sentiment out the window. Best players, best team and then impact subs.

Maeda drives me nuts. Difficult stuff he makes look like a piece of cake. Too much time to think and he’s an idiot. That’s yesterday and Ibrox where he could’ve squared it or done better in the first place. A truly shocking miss.

Schmeichel made a prize * of it - simple
Johnston sometimes is just a plain old Canadian right back
    CCV - best defender
Scales? - apologies to all who sit near me home and away as I shout “don’t give it to Scales” every time we shift it about and he’s the outlet. Other teams stand off him because they know he more often than not makes a big Jobby of his pass forward.
Taylor - good game save for his usual one or two brain freezes
    McGregor - good game - * penalty
Bernardo - I like Bernardo, but he just wasn’t on it at all yesterday
Engels - softer than a big pile of puppy poo
Kuhn .- a waste of a starting slot just now
Maeda - wasted out left, but a shocking attempt to win the cup after he had done the hard work
Idah - not his day, no service as such as he was surrounded by Aberdeen players.

Yang is a dud, always was a dud and will continue to be a dud
McCowan a bit headless chicken just now
Schlupp - unlucky with his rocket, but that’d be it.,
Forrest - so unlucky to get injured as, surprise surprise, he looked lively

Rogers, like all managers, is a stubborn wee Smurf and that came back to haunt him, and us, yesterday.

Their gameplan was 15% possession and a cross getting palmed into our net by our goalkeeper? Because without that, they would have spent the last 10 mins of the game defending like they did for the previous 80.

I don't think they executed a plan at all. It was damage limitation only and hope they can get some luck from a set piece. Aberdeen were absolutely woeful and it took until the 83rd minute for a cross to go in our goal. Even then that only came from a Bernardo mistake and then a McCowan mistake. If any team didn't deserve to win that cup final it was them.

I think we are being hard on ourselves. It's hard to play well against a full team of defence. If we had got a 2nd goal before Aberdeen scored, noone would be saying how bad we played.

Aberdeen had 2 clear cut chances to win the game other than that. Both got put over the bar somehow.

So that argument goes both ways, yesterdays result was fair for the football played is my take. Sure we might have won it but we didn't.

In extra time they had their clear cut chances, not before the 90. Absolutely nothing before then. Plus going on the balance of chances...Maeda, Engels etc we had the best chances.

I just think this "we were dreadful" isn't fair. Aberdeen spoiled the game and got lucky, that's it.

I don't think I said we were dreadful? I would say we weren't good and nothing about the game suggests we had any right to absolutely expect to have won it.
