I would be very surprised if we sold Engels. Really feel that with a full pre-season with us under his belt he could be a player of the year level performer next season.

Depends on bids for other players as well. If there’s none for other players we are bracing for we’d be tempted. Can’t see £22m being true though, they topped out at £16m for O’Riley

Yeh but takin into consideration our initial investment of a low 1 million that might have made them think that’s a big jump with Engels we have invested 11m would be quite right to ask for over 30m

    30m for Engels :eek1:.

Not thinking we need to sell him but £15m we'd sell him I'd say. Never getting £30m.

Im not surprised to see good teams in for him but at what price do we say yes.

imagine hatae goes at 15 and we accepted 23 for Engels.

£22m and a good sell on I think we’d be tempted, especially if it’s a move he’s interested in.

Hatate is the weird one for me. I think £15m for him is a bid I’d not expect. It’s also the minimum I’d accept, only if he’s really wanting to go. I’d rather Engel’s go and I rate him, if you offered us doubling our money in a season for him and Hatate signing up for longer.

The only time this year Hatate would have turned heads in a game clubs with money would look at is Leipzig. There wasn’t any other stand outs from him CL or Hun games, most clubs don’t give a * about bog standard domestic Scottish games outwith the stats he’ll have.

but Hatate I can see wanting to go this summer

I wouldnt be too fussed if he went for 11m. Id eat my proverbial hat if someone offered 20m never mind 30m!

Im not negative on Engels but having spent 11m on him, I dont really see much evidence of improvement that would lead to someone offering us double what we paid last year. As long as the funds gets reinvested in the team Id feel pretty neutral if he wanted to move on.

It would have to be for a big profit and a MASSIVE sell on fee, but even then only if for whatever reason he was unhappy here and pushing for it himself, which we haven't heard any rumblings of as far as I know. Really can't see anything in this, very little chance of him being turned over after a single season, he's nowhere near reaching his potential yet.

Arne Engels has shrugged off speculation linking him with Atalanta by insisting he's loving life at Celtic.

The Italians are reportedly weighing up a summer swoop for the Belgium midfielder.

But Record Sport understands the Hoops are in no rush to sell after forking out a club record £11million to land Engels from Augsburg last August.

Engels, 21, says he isn't aware of interest from the Champions League-bound Serie A outfit as he focuses on tomorrow's Scottish Cup Final.

He said: “No, not really, I didn't read it, so it's the first time that I've heard about it. There will always be something to write or to talk about and if you have a good season and hopefully win a lot of things, then there will always be clubs and always be speculation around a lot of players.

I think I am not the only one here that will have speculation in the summer. I'm just focused here now on the next game and it's a really big one and then in the summer I only want to get better.”

Engels has registered 10 goals and 13 assists in an impressive debut campaign at Parkhead.

But the four-time capped star knows there's still huge room for improvement next season.

The Belgian said: "Yes, 100 per cent. There is always a lot of things to get better on and also as a team we still lost some games and we don't want to lose any games next year.

"I think there will be a lot of work in the summer that we need to do and we need to get better in that we can have hopefully a better season next year.

"It's a big thing to go into Europe and to do really well there and hopefully we can compete for all the trophies again like we did this year and we will see where we end.”

Engels only checked into Celtic Park on deadline day last summer and the playmaker is looking forward to a full pre-season under Brendan Rodgers

He said: “Yes, of course, if you settle in really well, then you are more relaxed and you are more aware of everything that you need to do, and hopefully that will be the case next year.

You never know how it is. It's up to me to work hard into the summer and then we will see where we are. But yeah, it's a big aim for me to do better than this year.

"I know I did well this year, but I also want to do even better next year and make a lot of steps in my football career.”

The ex-Club Brugge starlet stands on the brink of Treble-winning history if Celts overcome Aberdeen at Hampden.

Engels has already lifted the title and Premier Sports Cup and says the chance to win silverware and make history is why he joined the Scottish champions.

He said: “100 per cent. It would be amazing to do that, to accomplish that and it was of course a big thing to come here and to win trophies and to be able to hopefully win three trophies in the end would be an amazing feeling.

"It would be a perfect season for me to start here. So yeah, that would be really nice.”

Engels savoured last weekend's title party as the curtain fell on the Premiership campaign and added: “Now I know the feeling Callum and James have had so often, that if you win something then you want it again and you want that feeling again.

"It's a special feeling, you cannot really describe it, how it is, how it feels like and that's why I wanted to come here to feel how it is.

"Now I felt it and I only want to win more and do better and better so there is a big opportunity in the weekend and hopefully I can feel that again.”

If offer is anything north of £11M, should we take it?
    Genuinely torn on this one.
Assumes (big assumption!) every penny is spent on direct replacement!

We did with rogic, kind of.
Loaned him back to Oz and most of us expected him to be punted back there at the end of the loan.
    Oh how we was wrong.

    Engels is gonna be fine.
Folk need to remember his age and experience and where he's come from.
Then factor in what he's actually done so far.

50 senior games over two seasons in Germany before he came to us.
Think by December he had told us he had played more in the first few months of the season here than any other season he had played in full.

He was always, as almost every young talent, gonna have good spells and less good spells. Purple patches and all that.
But it's 100% clear to see he's got talent and with a pre season after a bust first year, settled in to life and the club, he will be a much better player next season.

And I say that, but we can't even say he's been a * player this year. His involvement for goals has been great all things considered.

Much more to come from the lad.

Said it before but he doesn't worry me in the slightest going forward, the pieces are all there he just needs to put it together more consistently, same as O'Riley over his first year to 18 months, if he adds some goals from open play his value is going to skyrocket, can't believe anyone would actually entertain letting him go now for barely above breaking even.

A decent amount of assists himself already, but he's played a bigger part in a lot more goals, loads this season he's picked really good passes through the defence to set up chances or the pass that's immediately before the assist-goal, he has great awareness and eye for spotting them for someone his age.

Gonna see a massive improvement next season for sure imo.

But...if some team offers upwards of £20million after 1 season I doubt celtic will knock back doubling their spend.

Rogic played a lot of development team football when he came back too. He did have a very unique pathway.

I'm a bit worried about this guy...I didn't think he deserved to be subbed before Bernardo but I'm struggling to find out what his game is...if he was bought as a direct like for like for O'Reilly then we haven't scouted him properly...I don't know his best position.
