It's probably time to cash in imo.

A very good defender on his day but always felt he was slightly overrated. Plus his injury record is worrying in recent years.

Fantastic signing though, no doubt about it.

Totally disagree. As a club, we need to move on from that cash in mentality, he is one of the first names on team sheet and we should be doing everything we can to keep him. Imagine trying to replace him-especially given BR's track record with signing center half's? Nawrocki is a decent option as a right sided center half to be back up for CCV. His injury record is a tad concerning but should be manageable-things like resting from those * aweful plastic pitches.
At the end of the day, we dont need the cash anyway, say we get 10M for him, just cannot see us going out and spunking that coin on someone similar that can slot in straight away.
Cannot stress enough the importance of having a strong team going into the CL qualifiers-and like I sain, CCV would be one of the first names on team sheet.

Our record at signing CBs is absolutely honking which gives me the fear.

He’s our third best CB signing in the 25 years I can remember supporting the club behind VVD and Balde

Aye we have an awful record with CBs.

He's quite simply a must keep. If he leaves we will need to sign 3 CBs this summer.

One to replace him, another left sided and I wanted one in to replace Nawrocki/Lagerbielke/Welsh spot.

Ideally I'd keep Nawrocki over Scales but it seems likely the latter will stay.

CB is a very tough position to scout for 90% of them are the same level, dozen a dime (Physical but with the odd clanger in them). There are very few elite ones. One or two errors and they are branded by fans and it's hard to recover the reputation then at a particular club.

Said in rhe suggestions thread there but can see Dara O'Shea being linked particularly if he goes.

Losing CCV, Maeda, Kuhn and Hatate in the one window would be a * nuke. Spine of your team away.

Be very difficult to almost impossible to replace for where we are, what we can attract and how consistent he's been..

From Ireland I think Dara O’Shea would be a brilliant signing. I just don’t think we can afford him.

If he wants to leave, it's time to cash in I mean.

There are players we could afford to lose. Guys like Kuhn, Hatate are both replaceable, despite how good they can be.

For me, both CCV and Maeda are irreplaceable, should be doing all we can to keep them for another season at least, already going to lose a good few players this summer.

We need to strengthen our team and not weaken it. Loosing CCV, Hatate and Maeda would weaken us greatly and you just know our recruitment team has been pretty * over the years with more misses than hits. If the club is really serious about going further in Europe, as well as dominating the Scottish game, then we need to keep our strongest players (unless they really want to leave the club) and build on it

Another thing to add to this is no only are they irreplaceable to us and almost perfect for how we play, but i actually think we'd be pretty disappointed at the fee's we received for both..

Maeda's probably worth 30 mill to us. His pressing, goals, assists and havoc would see him do well pretty much anywhere he went.....but i just don't think we'd get what the support probably value him at. More likely in the 20 mill region the board would accept i think..

Carter-Vickers as well. A Rolls Royce to us but can't imagine we'd get more than 15 tops..
