As soon as he got hooked at half time the other month think he’s just been done, shame cause looked like there was still a quality player there just attitude then.

Probably not wanting to risk injury when out of contract in the summer.

Think at this point its clear we won't be signing him to a deal this summer. Hopefully Taylor does stay and then we are all set at both full back positions.

I think if we were looking to sign him, he'd be getting played ahead of Taylor these last few games. Wonder what went wrong tbh.

Few good games but now looks like another EPL player thinking it will be easy in Scotland.
No point of signing him, wish we'd kept Valle tbh

Rumours lately that Valle was likely to sign perm for Como as well.
I know we didn't have a buyout option in the loan deal, but I'd be highly surprised if Como can out spend us in fees or wages for a guy like Valle.

Would have been excellent to have as the rotation with Tierney.

He can win a unique treble if we win at the weekend.

Just wondering, if any other player has won 2 cup medals in same season, assuming we win Saturday?

    In our squad or ever?

    There's been quite a few,

João Cancelo with City and Bayern in 2022/2023

Ritchie de laet almost won the premier league and the championship in 2015/16 with Leicester and Middlesbrough, but Middleborough were runners up in the end that season as he went on loan for the 2nd half of the year

Jay Rodriguez is entitled to 2x promotion medals as runners up with Burnley in the championship and Wrexham in league 1 this year

Harald Brattbakk did it with Rosenberg and Copenhagen in 2001 winning both titles

Oliver tebily won the Scottish prem and the first division play off in 2002 after leaving us for Birmingham

Mark Lawrenceson won the top division as a player with Liverpool and got relegated as manager with Oxford in 1988

Am guessing they have changed the rules down south?

In Scotland it is still only those that are part of the matchday squad for the Final and the manager/head coach to get a Scottish Cup winners medal, and that always used to be the rule down south also. Chris Sutton, for example, did not get a winners medal for Chelsea winning the 2000 FA Cup, despite having played in multiple games (and scoring also) throughout the tournament, but was not part of the Final, so did not get one. So I presume that rule has changed down south?

FTR, that rule is still 100% in effect here in Scotland, as per Rule 3.

    3. AWARDS TO PLAYERS, OFFICIALS AND MATCH OFFICIALS
The Scottish FA shall present a medal or a souvenir in such forms as the Board may decide to each of the players,
to each of such substitutes as are eligible, the Manager or Head Coach and to the match officials, in the Final Tie.

Which is why James Forrest, for example, who had played in earlier rounds of the Scottish Cup, but did not get one for the 2020 Scottish Cup because he wasn't involved in the Final.

Basically, yes. Hatate is not eligible to get one. I literally quoted the relevant rule and gave a link to the SFA site/relevant passage, as well as an example of why James Forrest did not get one for the 2020 Scottish Cup Final win over Hearts, even though he had been iinvolved earlier in the competition, as he was out with an ankle injury between Sept 2020 and Feb 2021 (the Scottish Cup Final was in December 2020, because of covid).

JSYK, it is different in the League and League Cup. The above only applies to the Scottish Cup, and why it is so important for players to be part of the Final matchday squad for this competition.

Well IMHO its really crazy and a rule that needs to change. If a player has played in the competition especially as much as say Hatate but misses the final they should still get a medal.
