How many that left Scotland for abroad have actually been that successful though? Ferguson, Hendry and Hickey yeah, maybe some minor successes on top of that like Max Johnstone.

Yeah maybe not a huge amount but the recent successes of Ferguson, Hickey and McTominay have probably drawn some attention to Scottish players.

With so many links to us I've been trying to keep an eye on Miller's performances and I must say he's not looked anything special, although put Miller in our team and he may blossom into a better player simply by playing with better players, I'd certainly like us to sign more Scottish players and not just for the CL benefits having Scottish players in our team would bring.

Gilmour hasn’t set it on fire like McTominey and Ferguson and more bit part but has also been praised at points this season.

Liam Henderson started Italian’s looking at our league forging a decent career and having some good moments throughout it, Doig similar. Ferguson has absolutely thrived so much the value of Scottish guys has been validated over there. Now McCtominay regardless of him never playing up here that helps the perception of Scottish football.

I read an Italian scout when Ferguson went over being asked about SPFL and it was basically a lot of Serie A teams watching it thinking that the value of transfer fees on players is so low, that it’s there to be exploited. Lewis Ferguson being the best midfielder in it last year and was what, £3.5m? That only deepens the perception

He's 18 mate to be fair.

I think we need to get away from looking for absolute star qualities immediately with young Scottish players.

Personally I do see it with him. But I've seen our fans say the same about McGinn, Ferguson, Hickey etc. I didn't think Tierney was anything special fiest time I saw him either.

The lad is captaining his side from 17 years of age in the hardest position arguably to play right in the middle of the park. For me he is mcgregors natural replacement.

I don't believe we will sign him, though.

Sooner he goes abroad the better and put all the nonsense of us signing him to bed

See all the stories about Miller being away and us being mentioned, is it just because he got applauded off on Wednesday or is there more to why we are being mentioned?

It seemed obvious to me he would be going somewhere given his contract situation.

Manager commented on it afterwards and said he's planning on him not being there next season.

He's still one I'm not sure about. Clearly a talent but if likelihood is we are going to sign 2 midfielders to improve our squad I'm not sure if he's at that level yet. think we need a different profile.

Would rather give young McArdle minutes than sign him. Think he looks like he's got a proper touch of class about him. Miller for me is just average with a decent set piece.

I know this is tenuous but I saw someone online claim they know his family and according to them he has his mind set on a move abroad. I would still love us to sign him though.

Think if he's looking at Lewis Ferguson the other night it would have no brainer for him to move abroad

He could equally look at Calum McGregor or James Forrest

For context, ability wise Miller is arguably ahead of where a lot of our first team players were at 18.
In our team or not, he is going to become a great player. If we don’t sign him we will be on here posting about how much we regret it in years to come.

I think the issue is how long ago was it that each of them broke into the team. Frimpong would probably be a better example really but even then that was a few years ago.

True mate but then there is Tierney and young players we have brought in like Turnbull who were given game time at a young age.
Naturally at bigger clubs, quality and competition for places is greater.
There is no guarantee his development will boom if he moves abroad either. USG are top of the Belgian league and have a bit of money now.
Even if he has ambitions to play in one of the top leagues we have shown with various players VVD, Frimpong, O’Riley, Ajer, Edouard.. that there are pathways if he comes in and applies himself.

Is Lennon Miller physically stronger than our midfielders?

They are the exception though. Most young players don't want to stay in Scotland anymore. We can't even keep hold of our own youth players

Heard from someone else that he's got his heart set on a move abroad. Shame.
