Aye this is true I think. Growing up it happened constantly, was every other week or so we knew somebody who’d got it early 2000’s and that was much better than it was in the 80’s

Knife crime in Glasgow has pretty much dropped off a cliff since the 80's.

Can remember doing doors in the very late 80's/early 90's and the campaign "bin a knife, save a life" did seem to be a turning point along with City of Culture and the Garden Festival changing how Glasgow thought about itself.

Was knife crime not at its worst in Glasgow like 05/06? Remember all the murder capital of Europe stuff.Genuinely seen running battles in town centre every Saturday.

Got less experience of then but worked in pubs and clubs late 80's to just after 2000 and personally would say it was much safer at the end and the number of young males with a visible slash was much lower. Having said that working an under 18s was still pretty challenging. Difference earlier on was it was everywhere, especially schemes, but really most areas in Glasgow and very rarely reported and in all honesty almost expected to happen.

Did Google and can see the time you mentioned did look like it was bad so I could be wrong but suspect it was just better reported and dealt with.

The club and council have known about these parties for 4 years now and have sorted * all in the way of fanzone.

It's on them if there's damage.

If the club and the council arrange something official and the fans act like they do in Trongate, it’s on the club and the council. If someone dies, it’s on them.

They don’t want that. So they just bury their heads in the sand till it has passed and then wait for the next year. If something happens in Trongate they can just say people were told and claim it has nothing to do with them.

Watched a YouTube video of a guy walking through it and it looks like my worst nightmare. Couldn’t pay me to go down there, especially when it’s * roasting I’d already be in a * of a mood.

Not heard anything about that. That’s talking to people in the area, and a mate who’s a cop working it.

They’d of been notified about it right away, area would of been closed off and there’s zero chance the media wouldn’t of reported it, because anything to shame the fans would be used. That’s why the number of arrests is being so widely reported.

Think your mate is at the wind up.

There was someone stabbed outside Connolly’s unfortunately, seen them get stretchered away walking round to O’Neil’s - assuming they were stabbed as that’s what people who were watching on had said

I saw a guy get stretchered away right on the corner at Connollys when I was inside Blackfriars, must have been about half 5 ish / 6pm maybe. Thought it was just a boy who'd had a bad fall or that. That's brutal.

Thought the celebrations in the ground were good, helped by the wee Jamesie goal. Thought they set up pretty quick, best Liam McGrandles has ever sounded as well :fear: his face on the big screen was hilarious.

These stories grow arms and legs, you’d think a stabbing would of been reported by one rag at least and would of been on the radios to the cops working the area.

Hopefully the boys doing alright either way.

John Swinney now attacking our fans. * right off ya Baldy *. Don't hear you opening your mouth when it comes to sectarianism marches almost every week in Scotland and the disruption they feckers cause.

I wish they'd stopped pandering to those *...they * hate the SNP anyway and they'll never get their vote so stopped tiptoeing round them and deal with them and their sectarian bile.
