Celtic are at home for the final League match of the season, when they host the visit of St Mirren, ahead of the Premiership trophy presentation and celebration afterwards.
Brendan Rodgers made 8 changes to the starting lineup in midweek, and it comprehensivelt worked, with many of the fringe figures in the squad making their mark in a 5-1 victory against Aberdeen, who they will be facing again next week in the Scottish Cup Final.
The Hoops will want to sign off the League season in style in front of a capacity 60,000 of their own fans with a victory, in what is anticipated to be ideal Glasgow sunshine.
And while much attention tomorrow will naturally be in anticipation of Callum McGregor lifting the silverware and the party afterwards, there is the small matter of a football match to be played, and that cannot be taken for granted, especially as the visitors have something on the line to play for.
Mail Nawrocki heads home to score his first Celtic goal in midweek in the 5-1 win against Aberdeen
While Celtic were sweeping aside Aberdeen in midweek, Steven Robinson's side were forced to fight back after having conceded an early 2-0 deficit against in-form Hibs, to finish 2-2.
That result maintained the Buddies' 5 game undefeated run, which has included punching above snd giving a black eyes to every team above them on the ladder since the split. And they will be coming into this game with real belief that they could potentially land another blow against the Champions.
The visitors are still in with a chance of pipping Dundee United to 5th, if they do happen to crash the Bhoys' title party and better whatever the Taysiders can get from their clash with the Dons.
Johnny Kenny netted his first goal in his first start for the Club in midweek against Aberdeen
Stats & Facts
- The Hoops have won all of the past 8 straight encounters between these sides since Brendan Rodgers return, and are undefeated in the past 12 meetings overall since Sept 2022 (W11 D1).
- Celtic have won by a 3 goal margin in each of the previous 3 meetings this season (A 3-0, H 3-0, A 5-2) against St Mirren.
- James Forrest needs a goal if he is to maintain his record of having scored at least once for a 16th consecutive Premiership season since making his debut in May 2010.
- St Mirren away from Paisley rely on first goal scored (W6 D2 L2 = 20pts), but have not picked up a single point on their travels when they have conceded first (W0 D0 L7).
Luke McCowan and James Forrest were superb in midweek, and contributed to multiple goals
Team News
Brendan Rodgers has increasingly rotated his squad since clinching the title three weeks ago and is expected to make more changes for tomorrow. Cameron Carter-Vickers is a doubt and Reo Hatate will miss both this match and next week's Cup Final, joining Jota (ACL) in watching on from the stands.
As for Stephen Robinson, he has close to a full squad available, with just Elvis Bwomono expected to be ruled out, and as the Buddies are needing to get a point at the very least in the hopes of finishing above United and qualifying for Europe next season, expect a full strength starting XI.
Referee: David Dickinson
Since his debut in 2021, the 45y.o. has taken charge of 63 Premiership games. This is the 3rd time this season that Celtic will have crossed paths with Dickinson, but have won just 1 of those games, with the most recent occasion being the 1-0 loss to St Johnstone, last month.
