How many that left Scotland for abroad have actually been that successful though? Ferguson, Hendry and Hickey yeah, maybe some minor successes on top of that like Max Johnstone.

Yeah maybe not a huge amount but the recent successes of Ferguson, Hickey and McTominay have probably drawn some attention to Scottish players.

With so many links to us I've been trying to keep an eye on Miller's performances and I must say he's not looked anything special, although put Miller in our team and he may blossom into a better player simply by playing with better players, I'd certainly like us to sign more Scottish players and not just for the CL benefits having Scottish players in our team would bring.

Gilmour hasn’t set it on fire like McTominey and Ferguson and more bit part but has also been praised at points this season.

Liam Henderson started Italian’s looking at our league forging a decent career and having some good moments throughout it, Doig similar. Ferguson has absolutely thrived so much the value of Scottish guys has been validated over there. Now McCtominay regardless of him never playing up here that helps the perception of Scottish football.

I read an Italian scout when Ferguson went over being asked about SPFL and it was basically a lot of Serie A teams watching it thinking that the value of transfer fees on players is so low, that it’s there to be exploited. Lewis Ferguson being the best midfielder in it last year and was what, £3.5m? That only deepens the perception

He's 18 mate to be fair.

I think we need to get away from looking for absolute star qualities immediately with young Scottish players.

Personally I do see it with him. But I've seen our fans say the same about McGinn, Ferguson, Hickey etc. I didn't think Tierney was anything special fiest time I saw him either.

The lad is captaining his side from 17 years of age in the hardest position arguably to play right in the middle of the park. For me he is mcgregors natural replacement.

I don't believe we will sign him, though.

Sooner he goes abroad the better and put all the nonsense of us signing him to bed
