In a lot of ways this is a perfect situation for Sinisalo.

Perfect for him would be consistent games but outwith that, learning from someone like Kaspar and Stevie Woods track record for training keepers (Forster for one raves about him), Kaspar likely to have one more season or 2 in him with him being the longer term plan. Then if he is patient, definitely a good place for him to be.

I’ve seen a few links to keepers the last week or two though, Dubravka and a 3rd return for Forster being the two in the last week or so.

If we do get either again, aging trustworthy options, likely only a year or two in them as well, I think it’s too get him out playing somewhere on loan. Small glimpses of him, but he looks good, his attitude is good and BR’s positive about him. Maybe a season or two on loan, playing 60/70/80 games is the option

Found Rodgers comment about Kaspar’s assessment of his injury being different to the medical team and returning to training quickly interesting. I like the balance of trusting the sports science but ultimately the players own judgment, he’s done that with 3 players since he’s returned Kaspar just now, Maeda’s 8 week * hammy he came back a week later and Callum McGregor when he had him on the bench and brought him on the 3-3 at Ibrox, with Calmac clearly not being fit then but he’s done that throughout his career and its worked so wrong or not I like the approach from the manager.

A lot of modern managers are married to the sport science side, and for me whilst very important it’s not to be followed to the letter. Prime example of the latter approach was Clement at them

Would it be a surprise if he plays today?

Kasper Schmeichel has handed Celtic a major boost as he is set to be included in the squad for tomorrow's Scottish Premiership match against Hibernian at Parkhead.

The 38-year-old injured his shoulder playing for Denmark during the international break in March and has been nursing himself back to fitness ever since.

Finnish shot-stopper Viljami Sinisalo has deputised admirably for Schmeichel in the last six Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup matches.

However, Rodgers revealed that the Dane is back in the first team fold and will be making his push to be part of the side that will attempt to clinch the domestic treble at Hampden Park on May 24th against Aberdeen.

The Irishman said: "Kasper (Schmeichel) will be available for the squad. Ali is still out but we'll have a look for him in midweek against Aberdeen. Cam is still out, we're looking for him for the St Mirren game. We are sticking to the original plan with these two players.

Kasper was our number one goalkeeper, he's been brilliant for us all season. It's just really good to have him back and available and we assess it from there.

"I think we just have to be careful with Kasper, and we'll wait to see until later on how his shoulder has reacted, and then we can make a decision then who will play tomorrow. It's just the nature of it, but no doubt we brought Vil in here to eventually be the number one goalkeeper, and everything to that plan is on point at this moment in time.

"He's been very, very good. I've been really, really impressed with him in the games and it's great to have that

Good news. Deserves the trophy day game after playing as no1 all season. I'd rest him until then though.

I think we may well see the cup final starting lineup start against St Mirren including I would think Schmeichel.
