More i think about it, the more it makes me believe he's a sensitive we soul and a couple bad games and he starts listening too much into what people think. Gets in his own head. Needs to stop paying attention to outside noise and play how he can. Then it'll go away anyway.

Aye. He's been * for a while so don't think he's in any position to be gesture silencing the fans after one good game. He'll look even more daft if he's pish again next weekend.

Celtic winger Nicolas Kuhn revealed his goal celebration at Tannadice was in response to recent criticism about his drop-off in form.

The German bagged a brace during the champions' 5-0 crushing win against Dundee United, which saw Brendan Rodgers' men claim their fourth consecutive title. The year-old's double took his impressive tally to 20 for the season.

Kuhn clamped both hands in what looked like a 'shut up' gesture as he wheeled away to take the acclaim of the Celtic supporters after he had scored his first goal to make it 2-0 on the day.

When asked if he had aimed his celebration as a message to anybody in particular after receiving unfair criticism, Kuhn said: "Not particularly, but to a lot of people. I think it was a great season already. A lot of players did a good job this season already. I think I wasn't too bad either.

"I don't really read what people are saying, but I get it from some of the teammates. I'm just happy that we won the title, and we keep going."

It was a welcome return to form for Kuhn as he rediscovered his early-season touch in front of goal. He looked like a hungrier player and someone who was out to prove a point.

With 20 goals and 14 assists already this campaign, Kuhn reckons he's more than played his part in Celtic's title-winning side after playing a bit part in last season's triumph.

Kuhn said: "I think it was a small break (in form), but it wasn't too bad. It's been a long season already, and I'm happy to help the team today. It's really good. It's always nice to win a title. The team is really happy.

"It means a lot to win the title this season. I think that's the reason why I came here, to win trophies. We did it again, so we're all really happy.

"I think it's always nice to win a title, but especially when you play a part, it's even better."

Kuhn insists that Rodgers' men have also answered their critics in emphatic style after their recent 1-0 defeat to St Johnstone in Perth, where the manager questioned some of the players' mentality.

With Rangers at Ibrox up next weekend, Kuhn and the rest of the squad are determined to finish the season with a flourish as they eye up a record ninth domestic clean sweep.

Kuhn said: "I think in the last two games we have already shown a great reaction to the St. Johnstone game. The goal was to just keep going and score some goals.

"The game against Rangers next Sunday is really important. I think we have to stay within the flow and focus until the last game. Hopefully, we can get the treble at the end of the season."

Kuhn also revealed that his own personal highlight of the campaign was seeing Celtic put in some top-class displays in the Champions League.

The winger netted in a fantastic 3-1 win over compatriots RB Leipzig during the league phase, and he went one better when he scored in the Allianz Arena against the mighty Bayern Munich as Celtic came agonisingly close to knocking the Bundesliga men out of the tournament in their own backyard at the playoff stage.

Kuhn said: "I think there were quite a lot of highlights. Especially in the Champions League, we did well and we had some fantastic moments. There's been a lot, but I would say the Champions League was special

He kept himself quiet and did his talking on the pitch, if he was posting daft social media posts etc prior to this I would have an issue but not bothered about his celebration

Think it was aimed at the media, so I don't mind it. He was in good spirits with the fans at the end.

He obviously sees what everyone is saying you dont react like that to your teammates telling you to get the finger out. Absolutely pathetic also, he’s been a * mile off it since the turn of the year. Reacted as if he’d had a had month.

However, German winger Kuhn's knee is still being assessed, and a late decision will be made on him, but Rodgers is hopeful that he will be given the all-clear to be included in the squad to face the Light Blues

Nicolas was out. We're just assessing him and a slight issue with his knee, but he should be okay. We had the scan on that, it's just a little bit of bruising, but he should be okay."

Brendan Rodgers is hopeful Nico Kuhn will be back fit for Celtic next week.

The winger is not in the matchday squad for the final derby tie against Rangers in the league this season.

Kuhn didn't train in the week lead up to the Ibrox clash after a knee issue against Dundee United last weekend.

The German winger has been left out at Ibrox due to a "real soreness in his knee".

However, Rodgers is hopeful Kuhn could return for the visit of Hibs to Celtic Park on Saturday

The Celtic boss told Sky Sports: "He hasn't trained all week. He done some work with our medical team.

"He has just got a real soreness in his knee. He got the clash last week at Dundee United.

"We tried to give him every chance but hopefully he will be able to be ready for the next game."

Meanwhile, Rodgers moved to clear up any confusion surrounding German winger Nicolas Kuhn, after pictures doing the rounds on social media showed him sporting an eye injury which needed five stitches inserted into the wound.

Rodgers said: "Yes, Nicolas did it the other day. He jumped for a header and he got five stitches, and it was just down below his eye. He's fit to play. He's trained well this week, so he'll have the warrior spirit for him tomorrow."
