The Huns aren’t going to like this :BR1:

“Reflecting on the desperate days of the 90s when pundits like Jim Traynor predicted a bleak future for Celtic, Low now sees a dramatic reversal. According to Low, the gap between second-placed Rangers and third-placed Hearts is smaller than the gap between Celtic and Rangers. “Rangers are nearer Hearts in terms of financial competition than they are Celtic. Celtic’s worth ten times what Rangers are in terms of stock market value. Celtic’s financial numbers are superior to Rangers in a way that they’ve never been.”

The accumulative efforts of Fergus McCann and the people around him at the time set this all into motion.”

Also, some pertinent points about changing our transfer strategy or at the very least evolving it past what it currently is, which I wholeheartedly agree with.

I think that's harsh on sevco, they've done very well for a 12 year old club to win two cups in front of fans. Up there with St Johnstone as the second most successful club in Scotland the last decade.

    Some feat.

I think the whole of club football in Scotland is regressing, if we lose a couple of first team regulars in this window then we will be * as there is no sign of reinforcements coming over the hill to bolster the squad at this time.

Should just worry about ourselves and being the best version of us. * them.

Get the feeling that is never the mindset at board level though.

yep. I see some people comment on their thread more than I do any of our matchday/signing threads. I despise them but I'm genuinely not arsed enough about them really. Would much rather talk about us

We could be far much better than We currently are but will never be as The Board want us to be at Huns level to ensure their beloved "Old Firm" and "Title Race" both stay relevant which helps keep Sky Sports and Sponsors very happy.

    Long live the Blue Pound.

Just feel we have our foot on their throats and with a spend of 30M, we sink that foot bigtime.
I see they are worth 18M, surely a go fund me amongst Celtic fand could raise that and bury the * for good

Would love for it to happen but The Board will not allow it.

Incompetence, nepotism, arrogance and denial more apt.

sad for them as it's true, they'll yoyo 2/3rd with the odd cup success, as JML67 so elegantly put it, "Up there with St Johnstone" hahahahahaha' love a bit of schadenfreude of an afternoon

Absolute nonsense thread, they were a proverbial baw hair away from a treble last season but they blew it.

Complacency is the enemy, we should never rely on others failing.

Frustrating thing is we could and should have made them an irrelevance but our complacency and bordeline negligence over the last 10 years allowed them to stay much closer than they should be.

Exactly. Last season Rangers were favourites to win the league with 7 or 8 weeks left. The year we blew 10 in a row, and the speed at which we fixed the team afterwards, shows how quickly things can go right or wrong for celtic. We shouldn't be complacent and the gap as it currently stands really isn't that big

If you understand the context in which it’s being discussed you will hopefully realise it’s not nonsense.

Yeah and the reality is they can be closer to Hearts but their budget still outweighs Hearts by a * mile. They just need to dominate the rest of the league and hope to scrape past us.
