Yeah seen that few week back think it was on another thread , for me it does a couple of things

    1) Lee congerton was probably wrongfully slated as he’s saying his recommendations were thrown out, but we didn’t know at the time and lawwell as we know was being tight

    2) for me probably can understand more now why rodgers left if you look at the calibre of player he wanted but was being given

3)if Celtic had listened to congerton then there’s a good chance we would be sitting with more money in the bank , probably done 10iar , and would probably had better performances in Europe !

I'm already stressing about this window.

You just feel with Lawwell as Chairman we will remain sluggish and cautious in the market..

I've said it so many times, we need fresh ideas and direction in the boardroom. Nicholson showed signs of having that dynamism but seems to have been curtailed, coinciding with PL return as Chairman.

Still no new Head of Recruitment in place or DoF..

    No excuses this window.

Seen this a few weeks back. Never been a fan of that Congerton boy but hopefully this shuts up all the Lawell fan boys who thinks he does a cracking job.

I've never held ill will against Rodgers as if you take of the green specs you can see what he was fighting against.

The players mentioned are exactly the type we should be looking at. Yes they are not all hits and it's a gamble but so have the endless line of projects we've bought instead.

Maybe Congerton does know what he's doing after Atalanta's success last night..

Just don’t understand the point of getting these guys in to identify players to take us up a level, and then somebody like Lawwell just flat out refusing to listen to him. Fat *.

PL is a guy who will accumulate money.

    He doesn't spend that money.

If you don't spend in football, you go backwards.

He either stays and we put him in a role where he isn't involved in the spending side of the club at all or he * right off.

I'd favour the latter now as he's shown that he is always around anyone wanting to move the footballing side forward. Always throwing his weight around.

This is what worries me too TBH. I feel like if we were really serious, we'd have all that in place now ready to race out of the blocks when the window opens. Rodgers seems pretty confident about the window, which suggests he's got DD's backing and we will be willing to spend money this summer; but frankly, neither Rodgers nor Lawwell have any kind of track record of spending money well.

For the second summer in a row, we look set to lose our best player. So it's a window we need to get right. But I got a real shock last summer, I genuinely didn't see that coming. And I won't have any confidence in this board until I see a serious, professional structure in place.

As we have said I want 6 starters of decent pedigree minimum we need 10 players imo with 20 out the door

Goalie is a * must and I mean a proper keeper like the Belgian lad.

Upgrades on Taylor and scales. Not squad players first teamers who make the aforementioned squad players

Matt will go so a proper box to box guy with quality.

1 guy who you can depend on when kyogo needs swapped out.

1 winger who can play either side with real quality.

Realistically, what do you think the chances are of getting all that? I think there's more chance of Brendan pulling Taylor Swift.

With Hart retiring, O’Riley likely to leave, Taylor and Scales not being good enough, and the fact we haven’t replaced Jota with anyone close to what’s needed, we need 5 starters.

O’Riley will fetch £25m+ and with a few others likely to go, we will be close to getting £40m in transfers alone. Could be more depending on whether Frimpong moves on. We could easily use our transfer money alone to bring in the players we need and not touch the CL windfall. That’s what we should be doing, and there’s no reason for not, regardless of what some fans and Lawwell will have you believe.

Celtic seem to be able to identify talent but just have an unwillingness to meet the asking price. Toney being a good example - deal was there to be done but Celtic weren't willing to pay £10m.

Toney is actually one of the ones we know it wasn't about money, he's on record saying he knocked back moves to both us and the huns under slippy, because neither could promise him he was walking straight into the team as the no1 striker at the time.

I didn't realise Toney had said that.

I just remember the Peterborough boss spoke about it on Talksport. He said Hammond had spoken to Toney but Celtic didn't agree with the £10m valuation Peterborough had put on him.

Never mind the transfer fees. Celtics reluctance to pay a decent wage above what a league 1/ championship team would pay holds us back also
