I'd honestly give our spot to Kilmarnock - that is how pessimistic I am about our chances, also having in mind our transfer policy.

So if I'm reading that right, the money for winning or drawing in the group stage is down and (perhaps as a consequence), the money for winning or drawing in the latter stages is up (and up more and more substantially the closer you get to the final).

The thing I find depressing is that this probably makes perfect sense to a lot of people these days and certainly to the current generation of elites.

The most important thing is the revenue overall for the group stages uefa have said will go up by 33% for almost every team.

The revenue from group/league stage will go up over as there are 2 matches more to play. 1 home and 1 away extra each.
    Compare the 2 seasons
    23/24 : 6 gs matches win all get £14.4mn
24/25: 8 league matches win all get £14.4mn
So same amount for winning all.

I don't think that changes my opinion much, for several reasons. Firstly, the rewards have not stood still for the best teams that reach the latter stages but rather have gone up quite substantially. The prize money for the runners up seems to have increased by about 28% and that of the winners by 25%, to take the most extreme examples. Secondly, a nominal freeze for the likes of us is a reduction in real terms.

It still seems to me like what I wrote above.

Don’t want to think about CL yet as I’m happy and wasting money watching us getting battered in Europe, yet again, isn’t where I want my thoughts.
said after last season’s debacle I wouldn’t buy CL match package again again and will stick to that promise unless something changes in the summer window

I think we are going to have to show some ambition here. We need to be as competitive as possible. Personally i'm always exited about things changing as it can leave the future open to positive things, and the goal is clear, to improve and compete.

Supposedly Fraser Forster is being offloaded by Spurs.
    Perfect replacement for Joe hart.
He knows the club and would fit in excellent for Europe

A good result for us tonight in Denmark. Copenhagen fell to a shock defeat by AGF and are now unable to win the Danish title so either Brondby or Midtjylland will be champions. The Danish champions need to qualify anyway but Copenhagen would have been one of the teams in the champions path with a higher coefficient than us likely to qualify.

To get into League phase of Champions League in season 25/26 we need to win Champions League 24/25 because if we get knocked out league phase 24/25 season we can’t drop down to Europa league or Conference League and in season 25/26 even if we win the league in 24/25 we can’t qualify directly into league phase of champions league as the coefficient is too low which means we would start in play offs at highest.

Just realised that the Huns, if they manage to qualify for the league stage, can knock us down into pot 4

It doesn't matter what Pot you are in now, everyone plays 2 teams from each Pot.

The new system just suits the best teams, means they get to play 6 games against all the "*" teams meaning they are more likely to finish higher up and get through to the latter stages easier.

Then they are funneling more money to those clubs, the higher up you finish the more money you get, much more money is going towards prize money for the knockout rounds, the new Market Pool/Coefficient ranking takes into account how much money your country paid and your teams ranking together, essentially meaning like Aston Villa will get more money than they would have before because now it matters more they come from a country who pay a lot of money etc

The new set up is basically to give all the big Leagues teams more money and to make it easier for them to do well.
