I’d be all for both and I do think that we need two midfielders. I can’t see us paying £6m for Bernardo and £7m for Gronbaek though.
Cost shouldn’t come into it. Especially at £6m. The simple fact is cost does come into it. Especially for a club like ours where we don’t have the financial muscle to spend £30m/£40m in a transfer window. £6m for Bernardo would be a significant portion of our budget, O’Riley transfer in the bank or not and we’ve still to address the GK, LB, CB, LW, ST situations in the summer.

You spend £6m in the summer and that’s all you’re getting to replace O’Riley, unless we find another cheap punt somewhere.

For what it's worth I think Bernardo can and will go up another level next season, especially if he's starting the season in the first 11. But no I don't think he'd be our only signing in midfield. Rodgers will be looking for another quality addition there.

End of the day 6 mil for a talent like Bernardo is good business, and for all the chat this season of 'we should be moving with inflation' etc there seems to be a lack of folk backing that position up.

They will both improve, and have had an impact vs Sevco which is what matters. I would take a chance, as they will have already have had experience of the expectations here.

I still expect another forward to come in anyway, as he doesn't fancy Oh.

If we do win the league and get direct into champions league, on top of money in the bank, possible O’Riley sale plus any others outgoing and also a chance of sell on clauses on the likes of Frimpong, there’s no excuse not to spend 30 - 40 million on upgrading our squad. For once go into the champions league with a squad filled with talent, not 2 million pound punts from Korea

If we get them both for a combined 9m it’s worth it

Think both have shown potential and will improve.

Would sign Bernardo and try and get Idah on season loan with option/obligation to buy next season.

Signing both in summer would cost at least £12m+ and that's likely a decent chunk of our budget with strengthening other areas equally as important

I just don’t see how £6m is good business for a guy who’s failed to impress in the majority of games. He’s 22 now, he should be showing it far more regularly than he has done.

It's good business because if we get the best out of him he'll go on to triple his value easily. He's had a steady first year with flashes of brilliance, there's so much more to come.

I’m still undecided because it really comes down to our budget this summer.
How much realistically would we need to spend to significantly upgrade on our LB, GK and CB positions, which is the bare minimum we need?!
I reckon we’d need around 15-20m to get 3 good players in for those positions.
Can we really afford/or would the board be willing to spend another 12m+ on top of that for these two players?!

Then there’s the likelihood of losing some of our top players, like O’Riley CCV Kyogo Hatate etc, who will need to be replaced too.

I do think Idah and Bernardo both have good potential and I’d gladly take them both…if we were still to get the budget to upgrade the other areas of the team too!

If we can get both for around £10m I’m all for it

    Depends on the price

£4 mil each would be ok, but I wouldn't expect either to be first choice in their positions next season, but would expect that the season after.

Good young squad players with room to improve and become starters.

Bernardo I’m desperate for us to make permanent, Idah I’d be happy to depending on the fee. The £5m reported what it’d cost, no, * that. £2.5m/£3m yes no problem but would want another striker as well

Oh out for Idah would be a nice transition but who knows what Norwich will want for him. Kinda carbon copy of the Mikey Johnston at WBA, no option to buy so could cost a fortune to buy after his goals. If Idah did cost a fortune I'd rather wait and see what we can get elsewhere for the money. We'd need a recruitment team for that right enough. How long has it been since nepo baby left?

Seen the idea floated MJ and cash for Idah, if he keeps up his form might get away straight swap. I’d be right behind that idea.

Also wouldn’t mind if the fees too much for Idah, if it is a £5m odd and no room for movement from that, go for Miovski and offer Oh on a year loan. Be excellent for us all round, I think Oh has something but he’ll not get the time here to develop it. Main striker for an attacking team in our league though, would be ideal. I’d probably still say I’d rather Miovski than Idah, but it’s down to fees. Both are being touted at £5m. Miovski realistically we could get for less, but it’d be £4m odd at least. I’d be for that, Idah at £4m I don’t think I would.

If 5 or 6 million each I wouldn't take either to be honest. I'd rather go for someone like miovski if we are spending that on a target man type stiker.

I like Bernardo but he isn't holding down a starting spot every week and that's a lot of money for a bench player with potential. Wouldn't be hugely against the idea, just feels too pricy.

Ha ha. It's all relative right. But we aren't going to spend 10-12m on two players that currently start on the bench when we really need to be spending to materially improve the first 11.

Imo bernardo is perfect matt replacement. Came on in a huge game just this week and assisted straight away. We're loosing matt and that player requires zero bedding in.

Idah depends on price. It's hard to get a sub striker that does the job. Tbh we could do alot worse than both. Kyogo just isn't doing it this year, so I'd spend big on a replacement tbh, or just spend big on a manager that plays like ange and kyogo will be great again :56:

If recent history has proven, we need another decent striker. We can't just rely on Kyogo.

The drop off in quality from Kyogo to Oh is staggering. Idah softens any injury blow, Oh worries us all.

Idah has already shown his worth - 6 goals and two assists in 11 appearances (including those from the bench).
