Not negligence. They are an extension of DD's will, and he has frequently spoken of us and Rangers jointly, as the "Old Firm". He thinks us being too strong is bad. Also, as long as we are winning the league, there won't be any urgent reason for money to be invested in the team. The fans sadly, do not display anger as long as this bare minimum is met.

My prediction: O'Riley, Bernardo, Scales and the rest carry us to a title win, maaaybe the Cup too. Rodgers walks in the summer.

If Rodgers walks in the Summer do not be surprised if The Board leak a narrative to Jackson/McGowan that Rodgers is not a "True Celtic Man"

Not like us to be leaving it late. Will we ever learn.

So much for adding "quality" in this window.

Shooting ourselves in the foot here.

100% expecting Rodgers will be gone in the summer.
We've left it too late in this window for things not to be an issue behind the scenes.

He's managing the season and how he comes across, but clear as * he isn't being given what he thought he was getting.

    Alternative theory...
BR is 50 and just started a year long sabbatical in Majorca, dreaming of an easy international job afterwards - he's had enough of the EPL and after Leicester (where he looked really demotivated long before sack) he's no longer in elite manager category, Chelsea and Tottenham passed on him - so simply not as ambitious any more and ready for a year off.

Celtic came along and he thought, perfect!
Easy job (well, it was last time) at a wonderful club, who pay very well and risk of sack is pretty low.
I'll not be too demanding like last time, just coach the players from the successful recruitment model already in place.
Just beat a fairly mediocre rival and jobs a good un.
Nice way to ease into semi-retirement over 3 or 4 years.
I'm not leaving unless I'm punted, he declares.

So a very relaxed Brendan comes back, no preconditions, with a 'coach what I'm given' mantra at start of season. He doesn't pick any of new signings, they were already in progress.
He and the team both look lack lustre, flat and lacking drive first 3 months - team a reflection of the manager.
Then we lose a few games, rangers get a bit better and suddenly the planned easy life is under threat - better actually get the feckin finger out he says.
We need quality, 1st team quality was the cry.
Lawell says we never agreed to any of that * Brendan - just follow the model and it'll all be just fine.
So here we are again, BR back where he was 1st time around and once again not getting the support he demands.
    Deja Vu anyone?

I genuinely don't think his ego would allow for that to happen. It's possible but I can't see it. It's just all a bit weird the way he seems to be flip flopping just now

Club seem resigned to the fact khun will be the only signing this window with just over a week to go.

Only business I can see is doing now is something thrown our way on deadline day.

Keep saying it but it's not even been a great window for rumours. Normally you get a new one every couple of days. But its absolutely deid.

I'm not even taking that as a positive sign either. Rodgers been pretty quiet with any soundbites too.

I think we'll get a loan in late on. The Euros around the corner might be a benefit to us in getting a bigger name player in. Someone on the fringes of their club team but looking to force their way in to a Euro squad.

Honest to * the board need to be ran out of the club, sickening as usual. Them horrible * punch above their weight in Europe excluding last year. We do not, that's 100% on the board. Honestly worried about the league too...

Signings need to be made... Honestly not sure why Rodgers came back, penny pinching continues.

    100% agree

Only way to force them out is a 90s boycott / protest

As we all know that's almost impossible to organise - giving up a ST is a big gamble as may not get ot back

The whole board need rinsing but it's so difficult to do it.

Aye, we heard all summer about waiting for first team ready quality players to arrive. The didn’t really. The only player who has really nailed down a spot is Palma. Out of 9 signings, that’s * abysmal. We have had since the summer to identify and have players lined up. We have known where we need to get better as soon as that window closed in September. We don’t even really seem to be in for anyone. Beck is getting a mention purely because he done well against us on Boxing Day. It just stinks of desperation in all honesty.

I have a horrible feeling that we won’t add anyone else of note. Possibly a loan in the last few days of the window for cover. We had the full summer with money available and the lure of Champions League football to improve on Taylor, Hart and bring in a holding midfielder. In the end, we upgraded on none of them. With Bernardo starting to hit form, we could probably hold off until the summer for a holding midfielder, but the left back and goalkeeping position need sorted now.

How does that work? We've skelped the mankies more often than not and won all but 1 league since they formed. We've always had better players and far more valuable players, so how exactly is it the boards fault We've been * in Europe?

Far as I can see it's our naive system that's been our problem, which is down to the various managers trying to play attacking football against better sides, rather than setting up to be hard to beat.

Genuinely can't think of any club with such a lack of ambition.

This constant refusal to progress the club forward needs addressed by fans as we are only ones who can change this situation.

Much like the last player thrown our way, lagerbielke, I'll not hold much hope they will be of much use to us.

Because Celtic football club plays football the Celtic way.
We hire managers who, on the whole, play football the Glasgow Celtic way.

If you're gonna hire a manager to play this kind of football, you need to back the manager with the right calibre and style of player to fulfill that style.

We don't. That's on the board as they continue to sign players the manager has no interest in and doesn't fit the system.
