Good news, keep chopping the deadwood, let’s free up the wage bill so we have room for players that can improve the first team.

Thought he read the game well at times and was someone to work on.

But obviously wasn't up to the physicality of the league.

The Parkhead are also looking to try and move some fringe players out on-loan in this window although Japanese defender Yuki Kobayashi is unlikely to exit in this window.

 

He will go on loan 100%

 

Japanese Market open to march surely he has to move out, was guchi not in Feb or March last year before he went

We have enough depth at CB that he's never going to get a game, don't see any reason why we wouldn't be looking for a move for him, unless Rodgers has seen in training that he's technically sound and taken some notion to try to convert him to another position like LB, but it's unlikely.

 

He was too lightweight for a CB.

I never really apply that to attacking players but for defensive players you can't be brushed away so easily.

 

All of a sudden I've got this imagine in my head of a Rocky style training montage where Kobayashi and Kewell are working out together, lifting weights, hitting the heavy bag, carrying logs up steep, snowy inclines whilst bellowing "CANTWELL"

Then 6 month later he returns to us looking like a tank and snaps Cantwell in half in the 1st minute.

 

I’m remember his first two games and he looked sure and composed played in a game against that * main who battered him and never been same since

Just lacked the physicality and mentality, which are two absolute musts for any centre half at Celtic.

 

This is the problem when you give long term contracts on good money to duds.

Real Salt Lake and FC Dallas are keen on a loan deal for Celtic’s Yuki Kobayashi.

The Major League Soccer pair both want the Japanese defender. It is believed the Scottish champions would be open to the moves. Kobayashi has found first-team football hard to come by since Brendan Rodgers returned to Celtic.


The 23-year-old hasn’t played under him and his last top team outing for Celtic was last season. Kobayashi moved to Celtic from Vissel Kobe in January last year. He came in under Ange Postecoglou but failed to make the same impact as he fellow countrymen Daizen Maeda, Kyogo Furuhashi and Reo Hatate.


It has been a frustrating spell although the chance to get playing in America could get his career back up and running. Fellow Japanese midfielder Yosuke Ideguchi left Celtic earlier this month to join Vissel Kobe. Several of Brendan Rodgers’ fringe players could go out before the close of the transfer deadline

 

Would rather he was just sold but at least if they are paying his wages then its better then nothing for now.
