Celtic Supporters Thread (contains GB chat)

  1. Looks like the board don't want the display on a CL night. Guess the club will let them back after the Atletico game.

  2. Similar situation with my work, if you post something offensive on facebook and you have your place of work visible, you can be sacked as it’s seen as your representing the company with your views.

So even though the GB won’t come out and say they represent the whole of Celtic, they basically are representing Celtic in the eyes of the media

  3. Yep but that's how it is portrayed.

  4. I don’t think anybody would think that all the employees of that company think the same as what was in your post however.

  5. Thing is though, and I'm genuinely not criticising you here, mate: the GB are the least of our problems when it comes to people thinking others speak for us. A short time ago, we had a very clear example. The UK abstained from a UN resolution calling for a pause in the fighting, humanitarian corridors and the lifting of the order to move out of Gaza city. Yes, I get that that cynical * (and I think the slur is justified here) Lula had his diplomats word the document in a way that was bound to be unacceptable to the US and its lapdog rather than going for something that had an actual chance of succeeding (I'd hazard a shrewd guess the Chinese were involved in that too); but there's no getting away from the fact that we are the bad guys here. The CC * P has the moral high ground over us.

And it's no use saying that this government doesn't speak for us, because it does speak for us both legally and politically in every sense that matters and it is recognised internationally as speaking for us and it has just been seen to speak for us by people throughout the world.

Like you, I hate the slight possibility that the GB were supporting what Hamas did and the ambiguity they left; but this is far more shameful and humiliating.

  6. What was it you said the other day about things that cannae be compared? :p

  7. I genuinely don't remember, mate. Can you point me to the post. I hope it's clear that I'm not being a you-know-what here and the request is genuine not rhetorical.

  8. Surely if there's an agreement just to fly the Palestine flag rather than a message a compromise could be reached? * this board honestly.

  9. So Ukraine flags were ok but not this one...right you are...Smuggle them Palestinian flags down your pants lads!

Also as someone else aptly put, the board are out of touch with the majority of the rest of the world on this one.

  10. Nothing on gb forum about a ban

I’m sure they would be discussing it if true

could well be that the source is just an attention seeker looking for likes on social media

  11. I assume yer talking about the post on the HB.

Came from MacBhoy who would actually know because he is a member of the Green Brigade.

  12. The hypocrisy shown is staggering, but not surprising.

    * these Tory *. As I’ve said, after 2 relatively decent harmonious years between fans and board, they’ve reverted back to their usual stance.

    Rat *.

  13. Also, all the praise that Nicholson * was getting during Anges time here was clearly just down to Ange himself being the only * capable of actually running a modern football club the way it’s meant to be.

  14. Ridiculous the club haven't communicated with the GB..

  15. There is also a man involved at the club who once said in a meeting regarding the GB that “We should give them enough rope to hand themselves.” Coincidentally, this man’s return has coincided with us having a poor transfer window where we have signed players on the cheap whilst sitting with a fortune in the bank. No prizes for guessing who the man is. Of course it will all just be a coincidence for some.

  16. It would be interesting to see the reason fit the ban. I reckon that’s why they haven’t communicated, because they have been banned on an assumption. An assumption made by the board and also some of the support.

  17. Aye, they should have had the balls to inform them well before now..

It's clear the board don't want to engage with the GB, which isn't great they should engage with every fan group who requests it..

I will say the GB deliberately left the banner open to interpretation and failed to clarify in their statement. Which in a lot of fans eyes is unacceptable, never mind the board.

  18. Yep, the board had to take action for that banner.

They'll be worried what comes next from the gb. Something daft and we could get hammered.
