have u seen a handsome hun
Back in 1980 i was 10 years old when my father took my sister and myself to celtic park for the first time, and my love affair with celtic football club began.
since that time i can recall countless seasons were the celtic fans have regularly questioned refereeing decisions that have gone against celtic.
some bad decisions have cost us league points and some have cost us semi finals and some have cost us cup finals.
Sure i would also admit down the years we've had our decisions that we probably shouldnt have got.
in the last year and a half i would say that on balance we have possibly received more decisions in our favour than scotlands shame accross the city.
this has led to mass derision within the ranks of scotlands shame and their support. The media has also jumped on the bandwagon and championed the attack on our referees.
none more so than the clyde 1 scoreboard team ( hello guys... i know you look in now and again ) especially the large overweight ex player who now thinks he's a comic. joined ably by a man who has his fingers on the pulse of modernism his catchphrase of "bonjour" when he's saying goodbye is stolen from a tv programme that was popular back in the eighties. ladies and gentlemen i give you Hugh "del bhoy" Keevins. these two are ably supported by their posse of andy walker, Davie provan and a man called peter who gets quite excited no matter who scores.

Now down through the years when the celtic support have questioned the integrity of referees we have been mocked, laughed at and dismissed as having some kind of mass paranoia. It got so frequent it bacame synonymous with celtic...i.e the tagline "Celtic paranoia"

Can i ask why the media, instead of championing Scotlands shames attempts at unnerving our referees and joining forces with scotlands shame to criticise the referees...didnt come out and say that the rangers fans are paranoid.
as for big derek in the last year i havent once heard him say.
"och these things even themselves out over a season."
big derek certainly used that line many many times when his favourite team were getting things their way.
    but now.................... tumbleweed.

the annoying thing for me is ex celtic players like provan and walker seem to have been scooped up in this media bandwagon and are forgetting those times when they were hard done by with bad refereeing at the hands of.
syme, Valentine, Dallas and Mcginley...... four names to put a shiver up the spine of most celtic fans.

but hey ..... im probably just paranoid.....im a celtic fan.

Totally agree. I don't think paranoia is accurate for the Rangers reaction. It's mass hysteria, despite the decades of benefitting from this kind of thing.

Just hope the refs don't start to crumble.

I remember a ref getting suspended years ago or slipping into oblivion cos of some penalty against Hearts or something. Cannae mind the details. He was slagged off for being biased etc. Cant remember he details. And YES I think we have been extraordinarily lucky with recent decisions, but they have been more 50-50 than people are making out.

Great post there. Radio Clyde are ridiculously biased towards Rangers. I'm sure you could have mentioned some more referees as well (remember Waddle). It all stems from the old school refs who retired recently and what do you know, we've got 3 in a row.

in my opinion we / celtic have always had the * end of the stick when it came to referees.
the last season or so it has been a surprise at how our fortunes have changed with regards to marginal decisions going in our favour. with the exception of the sinister ministers performane at ibrox that cost levein five grand.
you know your onto a hiding to nothing when a top level journalist maintained that the recent penalty against st mirren should never have been given as the st mirren player never touched jan.........whilst the back page of his newspaper was a full page picture of that defender with a clear grip on jan........ mind boggling.
my dad always said that we should go into every game expecting to play the opponents and the match officials.

i just cant shake this paranoia...... eh shug.

The huns also think Clyde is bias against them, and also think the media are against them.

I'm too young to remember much before the early 90's. Celtic got plenty of bad decisions then, and Rangers seemed to benefit. Now its our turn to get the luck.

Accusations of bias are terrible, however the standard of referee'ing in this country is awful, and has been as long as I remember it. I don't for one minute believe their is any bias, or ever has been.

    * decisions like giving the diving Greek hun a joke of a penalty against Hearts in season 04-05, which probably cost us the title that season! Likewise some favorable decisions on the run in last season undoubtedly helped us win the title.

I didnt hear any huns shouting about refs when fat * boyd was throwing himself all over the place at aberdeen and getting free kicks for nothing...where was their bias then?
They can all go * off!!!....its the same everytime Celtic do well....the media and the huns cant take it!!!!

From a personal point of view, what the recent decisions in our favour / against Rangers have actually done is made me realise that infact I AM NOT PARANOID and that for years I WAS CORRECT in my opinion that Rangers get all the decisions in their favour.

Seeing us get the rub of the green recently is a completely new thing for me - Never before in my years of watching Scottish Football have I seen us actually benefit / Rangers suffer from a couple dodgy decisions.
