Celtic in Europe 2023-24

Would be good if we could keep them together long enough to learn from it.

 

So annoying never taking anything from the first game. Always means our 2nd is win or bust pretty much for CL qualification. One of these days we will start with a win!

 

If it comes to any sort of head to head v Feyenoord it may be crucial we only lost by 2

 

Means we'd have to beat them 2-0 - and then have a better goal difference - or else beat them by three goals. Not going to happen, is it? So let's just finish on more points than them...

 

I just hope as a team we can score more goals than the Lazio goalkeeper.

 

Been watching a few YouTube videos of us in Europe and you realise just how special the atmosphere at Celtic park is...if only the board would do the same and look round the stadium and say do you know what ? This place needs players who can hold their own bcoz these people deserve it. I know we don't play in a league of great standard but Celtic surely should have a team able to give big teams a wee scare and to go to games against the like of Bodo. Feyenoord, Copenhagen and shaktar thinking we should be good enough to beat these teams and at least fight for 3rd.. the standard of player we have needs to be better than what we have in certain positions.

 

Some people need to see a reality that we deserve our status as having one of the worst records in the CL and in Europe in general. Our stats are woeful. That knockout round stat is sickening considering how far domestically we are ahead. and the time money was there to win a euro trophy when they were dead.

The amount of times we recycle players and don't appropriately invest suggests we shouldn't be anywhere near the CL. EL or ECL is where we have a chance of winning a game...EL pretty much a place the Huns have found a way to compete and win on a fairly regular basis.

All we are doing in the CL is putting our best players in the shop window for the next summer. Rinse and repeat.

 

Just watched athletico beat real 3-1, they’re a good rather than spectacular team AND definitely our most difficult group fixtures

 

Watched the highlights. Scary the thought of them against our backline.

 

We're getting horsed by Atletico. I don't even want to think about it.

 

We really needed Atletico to wipe the floor and hoped that we took points off then somewhere but they've already done that to Lazio and given then the advantage of finishing second and losing to Feyenoord means we have it all to do for third.

Feyenoord will be a different team when we face then at Celtic Park with having their Mexican lad back.

I can't see Feyenoord licking up another point though before the final game of the group stage and we'll probably need to win it to get third spot.

It's frustrating because Lazio have been absolutely rotten this season yet got a point from Atletico. It's like Shaktar picking up points against Real Madrid all over again. Absolutely * us.

Should Feyenoord have their fans banned from all matches after the battle with Ajax.
When we play them at home there will be trouble.

They fought each other. I know they were defending themselves but football authorities may not see it that way.

How much can we read into this result? On the face of it, it is almost as impressive as Atletico pumping Real; but by all accounts, Ajax really are terrible this year. Has anyone hear seen them play?
