Is Roberts really the player he was at us though?

He's scored 9 goals since he left us 5 years ago

I think he finally recaptured his form at Sunderland last year.

If we get both Podence and Roberts, I wouldn't be against that, albeit it doesn't speak much on Abada/Tilio's futures.

Still only scored 5 in 40 odd games. Would be a good option if he still has it though

Aye he's not somebody I'd be clamouring for, but equally if we sign him + Podence I'd be fairly happy with that

    Paddy Roberts man.

For the love of *… have we entered a Time Machine. Roberts Podence Fraser all players we have had or been linked with in Rodgers first stint.

I think we’re all beginning to realise just how great Ange was. Rodgers has us operating in 2018. There’s no * way these names would be getting brandished under Ange… and we would have already had the replacements in the door.

The position were in at the moment is absolutely * criminal.

    Big few days.

He’d be a big upgrade on what we currently have.

He’s a right winger that’s small, injury prone and not that quick. He’s a good player but we need better if we want to be serious about Europe.

Sorry mate but we are definitely not “serious about Europe”, not a chance. We will be embarrassed again the way this is shaping up.

He's a good player and a different option but suffering christ is this what our transfer policy has come to, seeing which ex-players fancy coming back up the road.

How have we went from a treble winning season to being deflated by the club in a matter of a couple of months?

    * criminal that we are where we are right now.

When it comes to creative players, size isn't an issue. If anything, being short means they are more mobile and explosive which helps them blow by their opponents. They also have a lower center of gravity meaning it's more difficult to bring them down. For instance, Messi is 1,70. Maradona was 1,67. I could go on and on.

That said, I'm not overly excited about the possibility of bringing Roberts back, especially if we plan to sign him as Jota's replacement.

He plays on the right so he ain't replacing Jota anyway

I was saying the other day right now I feel almost as deflated as I did after the cup final when we appointed Lennon

Fully agree but feel like we could really use a winger with a bit of size and pace, we are so lightweight in the final 3rd outwith Oh. Roberts is never a Jota replacement.

It's a sad state of affairs. This Roberts stuff is the icing on the cake at the moment also.

He was class when he was here. Left, and has done practically * all since, yet some folk are quite excited at the prospect of him returning?

That's nostalgia talking and nothing more. Shouldn't even be entertaining the thought.
