    Yip,

    Ill stick with 8m 8m 4m

Or explode wage budget, but I don’t think that will happen.

Think we will be smart about how we spend the money.

Thing is we don’t need a massive amount of players 3 or 4 maybe 5

In the end I expect 4, but at least 2 statement signings

Looks like Rieder won’t be coming to us. Apparently the Bundesliga is his preferred destination.

Such is life. We’d have to break not only our transfer record outlay, but also our wage structure to sign him.

I don’t think this was ever going to happen.

    Hail Hail.

  6. Was never going to happen that one, ridiculous if the recruitment team thought it had a slight chance of happening.

If we are now shopping in the £10-12 million range as per rumours then we are going to have to be patient. Players at that level will usually have quite a few offers.

We need real quality in GK, LB, CM and LW. A RW too depending on who leaves.

If we push the boat out a wee bit on the above we should have an outstanding squad come August 31.

I didnt see us parting with upwards of £12m anyway. Im just not convinced we will, yet.

Borussia Monchengladbach have had an £8.5m offer rejected for Celtic target Fabian Rieder as Young Boys say bidding must start at around £13m for the 21-year-old Switzerland midfielder, who has said he would prefer a move to Germany's Bundesliga but is open to England's Premier League. (Blik)

Gangwon captain Han Kook-young has revealed he told Yang Hyun-Jun that he needs to up his game and leave on a high if he is to clinch a move to Celtic after Friday's 1-1 draw against Gwangwu did nothing to ease their relegation worries. The 21-year-old's protracted move to Celtic appeared to move a step closer this week with his club bringing in Brazilian striker Vitor Gabriel from Flamengo. (Sunday Mail), external

Out-of-favour Celtic striker Albian Ajeti's hopes of turning his loan move to Sturm Graz into a permanent transfer have been ended by the Austrian club's signing of Szymon Wlodarczyk, according to Kleine Zeitung. Meanwhile, Portuguese outlet JN claims that midfielder Ismaila Soro's potential Celtic Park exit route to Arouca is now off the table after former Celtic man Eboue Kouassi was signed from Genk. I still stand by the logic that Rodgers would never have agreed to return unless he was given significant backing from the Board.

This is the time to get players in and familiarize them with the squad/manager.

The focus has to be on quality in the right areas and not quantity.

Don't think I agree on the need for a 3rd ST, it'd be nice but far from necessary. Agreed that a CB will need to be brought in, whether that's a proper top end one will depend on Starfelt leaving.

TBH I'd never heard of him and had to Google him, but apparently he's only 21. For someone that age and that potential who Rodgers can develop, I honestly think we would spend that (sadly it seems he's not interested in coming to Scotland).
I do agree that it's difficult to imagine us spending that much on a 24-year old and I definitely don't think we'd spend that on someone in his prime (nor should we!).

An injury to Kyogo then we're placing a big burden on Oh.. Maeda can play there but not great in a packed low block..

I don't think he has either.

But I do think he's taking his time to assess the squad he's been given before fully delving into the market. Which tbh is only fair.

While that's understandable, I don't completely buy that as an excuse for our seemingly lethargic attitude in the market.

Didn't he say he's literally watched EVERY game? We fans watch every game and know what's needed and know what's surplus. He's supposed to be this elite level manager. Ffs, you yourself Shelby could hand him a list of targets in the 5-10m bracket that would instantly improve us.

I think it's more the case that he never expected to be shopping in the Celtic level market again, and is doing his homework, which again, is understandable. But for me goes to the heart of my unease at this appointment as it points to him having complete control over our transfer business, something I really don't like.

Surely someone at the club would give him a heads up about who's worth keeping and who we should let go and do the club still video all their games for analysis which would also give him an idea
