Jota cost £6m, obviously he wasnt a project.

Abada maybe, and to be truthful kinda still is as he blows very hot and cold.

Jota was a 22 year old on the books at a major European club, had played for Portugal at every level up to and including u21, had spent a season in la liga and came on loan with an option to buy at £6.5m. He absolutely was not a project.

Abada has scored the same amount of goals as jota over the last two years. No too shabby for Simone who blows hot and cold.

If he gets his consistency which he could do since he is only 21 he will be a fantastic top class player.

I believe due to him not having the flair of Jota he is overlooked more.

Jota wasn’t a project winger when we paid 6.5 million after a years loan ….. he was for all purposes a project winger when we got him on loan he was just off the back of a bad loan to la liga

Jota was definitely a project, an outstanding youth team player but never made the step up to first team mens football before celtic.

Hard to get excited by this one now with rumours flying about of us spending big money on certain players. But shouldn’t think like that as up until last summer our recent £5m + signings were more of a miss than a bit. (Ajeti, Barkas, Julian) onlu Edoaurd you could count as a success.

Kyogo, Hatate, AJ, JJ, GG, Maeda, O’Riley, Hart, Abada, Starfelt all excellent signings in the £1m-£5m bracket in the last couple of seasons.

Jota and CCV are the start of what should be a successful time of shopping in the plus 5 market hopefully.

Jota wasn't a project when we got him on loan. At 22 he had spent his career to date and been coached at a highly prestigious club from one of Europe's top leagues. He had many caps for one of Europe's top international sides at every level before senior. Wether the loan was good or bad in la liga is irrelevant, it was still experience of playing for a season in one of the top 3 leagues in the world. Also think the option to buy and fee were agreed with the loan, subject to the player agreeing.

Bringing Jota on loan, with the option and agreed fee, was barely even a punt never mind a project. What it was, however, was an amazing piece of business.

He's definitely got something about him this boy. Just isn't a big name..

I wanted him over Tilio to be honest..

If he comes in I'm still sure we'll sign a replacement of quality for Jota and another capable right winger..

Watched some more clips of him last night and he scored a double here

Bit of polishing up and he honestly looks like he could be a star player for us..

I think people are confusing a ‘project’ with a signing that has some ‘risk’.

I don’t think Jota can be described as a project. It implies we brought him in not expecting him to start and we would spend time developing him. Clearly this wasn’t the case.

There was an element of risk though since he hadn’t had a great deal of first team experience. That’s why he came in on loan.

Abada is more on the project side to me. He is clearly a talent but has obvious areas to improve, which is to be expected at his age. We’ve also seen huge improvement since he first joined.

Pretty grim, if this is Jota’s replacement.

Gangwon Yang Hyeon-joon (21) has opened a way to transfer to Celtic (Scotland) in the summer transfer market. It is known that the Gangwon club has turned in a positive direction regarding Yang Hyun-joon's summer transfer, and has also resolved the resentment with Yang Hyun-joon's side related to the transfer.

According to Gangwon FC on the 5th, Gangwon CEO Kim Byeong-ji had a surprise meeting with Yang Hyun-joon at the Gangwon club clubhouse this afternoon. Yang Hyun-joon emphasized his desire to move to Celtic in the summer after the 20th round of the K-League 1 against Incheon on the 2nd, and said, "I want to meet with CEO Kim Byung-ji and come to a conclusion."

Afterwards, whether or not the meeting between Yang Hyun-joon and CEO Kim was a matter of utmost concern, the meeting between the two took place on the 5th.

In the interview that day, CEO Kim is said to have comforted Yang Hyun-jun by conveying a positive message with the intention that he would completely reconsider the issue of Yang Hyun-jun going to Celtic.

The club has been sticking to the winter transfer stance after the end of the 2023 season for reasons such as the team's circumstances. Yang Hyun-joon's side has been insisting on a summer transfer. It is true that this has made the two sides seem to have an extreme conflict.

However, in the one-on-one interview that day, conflicts and misunderstandings disappeared like snow. It seems that a dramatic breakthrough was opened along with the resolution of the conflict. It is said that the possibility of Yang Hyun-joon's summer transfer has increased as the Gangwon club announced that it would step down from the position of a winter transfer master and conduct a forward-looking review in line with Yang Hyun-joon's will.

On this day, CEO Kim said to Yang Hyeon-jun, "Let's forget the past. Let's build a relationship that respects and trusts each other. Let's solve the problem we are facing." Following Yang Hyun-joon's wish, CEO Kim said, "Don't worry and do your best as a player in Gangwon," and gave encouragement and a request to discuss again with the manager and club management team so that we can draw a good conclusion.

In the end, as CEO Kim showed an open-minded and embracing attitude, Yang Hyun-joon's transfer to Celtic, which was controversial, remained a matter of time

Tilio, Maeda and Forrest floating across all of them. Forrest maybe even offski. I think Tilio could operate as a CAM.

Really hope Forrest is off. No chance he should take any game time away from an academy player.

I think he’s a Forrest replacement more than anything. If Abada leaves then I imagine we’ll sign a first choice RW.

He looks promising but with questionable decision making - something that can be addressed and improved I suppose.
