If he wants to go then again that’s a no brainer. Start the bidding at 20m.

If he was happy to stay though...

I know it means nothing but his face watching the Naka goal against Man Utd, the face of a man who wants to do something similar in front of his adoring public under the midweek floodlights.

I thought Hooper had very good movement as well. But yeah Kyogo up there also for sure.

Iv heard a lot of this Kyogo vs Edouard debate. Kyogo all day for me.

Needs one more season here to show case his skills in European arena. Not like he won't have his choice of clubs next year. And yes I do think he will be away next season

Outside football skill level (both equally as good imo) I think people have a slight bias here due to Kyogo being a humble likeable guy as well. Edouard was a moody Frenchman who didn't always smile and didn't engage as well with the fans like Kyogo does...

I didnt see the same effort from Edouard and I thought he flattered to deceive at times. Had absolutely no heart/dig about him and standing at six foot tall, i dont think i ever seen him win a header.

He would have been best played coming off the left as his strength was with the ball at his feet running at goal.

Yeah Hooper as well had that instinct and was in my thoughts when posting that.

Kyogo though is on a different level. Really hope we get at least one more year I really think he could make an impact in the CL.

You’d have sold Henrik Larsson in his prime.

Keeping him and letting him leave for free is not absurd at all, the only issue is if he wanted to leave and we stopped him it doesn’t look great.

A striker who scored over 30 goals a season is invaluable to us, it could be the difference between automatically qualifying for the group stages and potentially not qualifying for anything. That alone is worth over £25million per year, so £16million is *, especially from the EPL, it should be £25million minimum but £35million isn’t ridiculous.

Celtic will demand £25million from any club interested in signing star striker Kyogo Furuhashi this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (26 June) that new boss Brendan Rodgers does not want to allow the 28-year-old to leave the club this summer.

Celtic will try and ward off would-be suitors with a hefty price tag that would match their record sale.

Premier League newcomers Burnley have become the latest side to be
linked with a summer move for Furuhashi.

However, a well-placed source has told Football Insider that his £25million asking price is likely to be “too rich” for the Clarets.

Football Insider revealed earlier this month (7 June) that Furuhashi also has interest from Premier League trio Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace – as well as Serie A and Bundesliga clubs.

It was also revealed that Celtic have held early talks over a new contract for the hitman in a bid to keep him at the club after another goal-laden season in Scotland.

Furuhashi’s current deal is set to expire in May 2025.

Scottish Player of the Year Furuhashi scored 34 times in the 2022-23 campaign and was the standout player for Celtic as they won a domestic treble.

Rodgers is keen to keep the striker at the club past the transfer deadline as he bids to transform the Parkhead outfit into a force to be reckoned with in Europe.

Arsenal have submitted a third bid worth £105m for West Ham and England midfielder Declan Rice.
The Gunners have had two bids for the 24-year-old rejected after their offers fell short of the £100m West Ham want.

£25m is chump change to these EPL planks...

Kyogo Furuhashi has brushed off speculation linking him with Spurs by insisting he only cares about Celtic, after training with his hero Andres Iniesta.

The Premiership Player of the Year is back in his homeland for the summer and was a surprise guest along with Celtic teammate Yuki Kobayashi at his former club Vissel Kobe's public training session.

The Hoops pair went to meet former Barcelona icon Iniesta who will hang up his boots at the age of 39, with this weekend's game against Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo expected to be his final appearance.

And Furuhashi was asked about the possibility of big-money move to Tottenham Hotspur to link up with former boss Ange Postecoglou in London.

He said: "No comment. The future will bring what the future brings.

I am only thinking about doing my best for the club I belong to now.

"It was great to see Andres. I said to him that it had been a long time since I had seen him and the rest of the conversation is a secret!

"He is the man who gave me the confidence to play football.

"He taught me many other things, such as how to play the game and to have belief in myself and because of him, I went to Celtic and achieved results.

"I hope to improve my technique and grow even more.

"I want Andres to enjoy it until his final match. I think a lot of people will want to send him off in a good way.

"Hopefully, his last match will be a win for Kobe. I will be there to see it myself."

Keep him for as long as we can, his goals are worth it, where will we get 30-40 goals a season player
With him in a slightly tweaked formation with Brendan’s tutelage and a couple of new players we could have a decent crack at Europe

What it is worth to us, over £25million, is irrelevant to whoever may want to buy him. They don’t care that for one season he scored more than 30 goals in a league they have no regard for. Don’t you think it’s time we got realistic in our own heads about what our players are worth. You say £25 million minimum but £35 million “isn’t ridiculous”, come on ffs. What planet are you living on??? I hope to * he stays and Brendan gets to work with him but if he goes it’ll be interesting to see what we get. Then the whole toys out the pram will start all over again when we don’t get what figure some have plucked out the sky. Then it’ll be Hatate followed by Jota next year when folk say he’s worth twice his value and greet when we get what we get.
