Knutsen didn't really do that against us, certainly not all out attack or even a high press. At Celtic Park they soaked up pressure in a well organised shape and hit us repeatedly on the counter.

 

Knutsen seems pretty happy at Bodo. Maybe the only chance would be to sell him the 'project' of developing Celtic into a European group stage mainstay, and offer him a lot of control over recruitment and the direction of the club like he has in Norway.

 

I went with Knutsen from the names mentioned so far. Really impressed with how his Bodo teams play.

Just watching the guys on the huddle breakdown and they are saying the guy who has the same credentials as Ang and plays the same way is Muscat but thought that be a problem for some supporters because who he played for .
They are saying also that the recruitment could be non existent at the club as Ang was pointing out the players to go for and that's worrying and do we have a head of recruitment.

 

Would you though, would you really? A club that just about escaped relegation and is run by a corrupt scumbag. As for the European cup thing, by that logic you'd respect Ange more if he'd left us for Steau Bucharest instead of Spurs?? Come on now.. lol

 

I'm working in Spain at the minute, in Rayo Vallecano territory actually. Iraola is extremely well thought of throughout Spain and people here seem to think he'll be getting the Sevilla job or perhaps a job in England (Leeds I think was the one mentioned). He'd be the dream appointment though imo.

 

Aren't Sevilla keeping the manager they've got . No chance if they are interested

On recruitment being non existent that won’t be true either. Ange when here had been saying for a while it will be tough this year as you don’t know who of our first team players may get picked up. They will know who has interest in them but whether they bid or not is out with their control.

Also we didn’t hire Mark Lawell and subsequently Joe Dudgeon to sit on their backsides as two highly respected recruitment people within the City Group.

I believe the above scenario regarding recruitment is what would lead us to appoint a city group associate or someone who plays similar football as most of the targets we are down the road with would remain targets.

In fact the above will be a major part of the discussions we will be having with candidates on their principles and approaches to the game who they have in mind to bring in etc. From a manager point of view who is likely to still be at the club?

Backroom staff it sounds like whoever comes in will have free rein to assemble their own as ours will be gone.

It’s actually a very good job for someone to come in to

-CL football
- a chance to bring your own team
- a good squad of players
- within the squad players who have interest if you want scope to shape it in your way.
- a summer clear of qualifiers
- a decent budget to sign players regardless of sales.

Yea mate that's what I was thinking in the conversation too to be honest. Maybe it was dependant on them losing the final?

 

I wonder if Bodo Glimt fans are reading our forum * livid that we are talking about stealing their manager.

 

Knutsen for me. A like for like replacement and builds teams. His recruitment is class. Make it so.

 

Thats my preferred 3 as well but thinking about it: Iraola potentially out of reach (la Liga to SPFL is a strange move) unless he's genuinely put himself forward as rumoured; Knutsen has said he won't leave mid season so a non starter; Potter might be holding out for another EPL job and been linked with Palace.

Thinking it'll be one of Rodgers, Maresca or Muscat now.

I was reading an article about Iraola and it was saying he was obsessed with English football. Might see us a stepping stone and * off. So what. Get him in

 

wonder which Celtic legend he'll quote in his first presser..

 

For me if it is true and he wants to move from La Liga to here it’s because of what we are. Club with history, fan base and a very good team for someone to come in and work with.

Also he will be able to cut his teeth in the champions league.

Make no mistake about it if he is coming here or really wants the job it’s to advertise his skill set for a bigger job for me.

Still have him though.
