With all due respect mate. I couldn’t give two * about the Australian National team. In all honesty, I couldn’t give two * about the Scottish National team either. I’d be happy if all Celtic players pulled out of International games from now until the end of time.

What I will say, your last part of the post is nonsense though. That was a hun thing when Smith was in charge.

Interesting. For us Aussies-and I'd say most of our players too, playing for the national team is the highest honour.

I can understand why Mooy might want to stay behind for the current meaningless friendly though. Asian Cup/World Cup games OTOH no way would he not be busting a gut to go-same with the other Asian boys.

If he's truly injured then staying in Scotland is obviouly the right thing to do. Mooy loves playing for the NT so he must be injured.

Best he's ready to play when the break's over.

Agree, his craft was badly missed today, we were so blunt at times.

    https://sport.optus.com.au/news/j-l...rld-cup-loss-for-his-celtic-mad-family-member

It was a steaming hot day at the Al Janoub Stadium on the southern edges of Doha when Australia faced Tunisia at last year’s World Cup.

As the mercury soared for the 1pm kick-off, the temperature inside the air-conditioned stadium was just as intense as the Tunisian fans created a hostile and furnace-like environment.

Every touch and pass those in navy blue made was met with a vociferous jeer and a boo… that was until Mitch Duke’s 23rd-minute header silenced the largely partisan Tunisian crowd.

When German referee Daniel Siebert blew for full time and the Australian players celebrated a historic victory, the disappointment was written all over the faces of the Tunisians who had thrown everything at the Socceroos.

Despite the obvious disappointment, striker Issam Jebali knew he had one job to do - get Aaron Mooy’s shirt.

“One of my wife’s family, he really loves Celtic,” Jebali explained to Optus Sport.

“The moment we knew we were playing Australia he said, ‘Please, if you play against Australia, if you can change your shirt with Mooy I will be happy’ so I actually did it for him.”

While his wife’s uncle was happy, the disappointment still lingers for Jebali, describing it as a “bad memory” but giving full credit to Australia.

Praying he's fit, he's a big part of the team now and we are a better team when he is in it, everything just seems to move smoother.

    He’s a quality, quality, technician.

I’d personally feel far more content with the side if he’s announced in it on Saturday morning.

It went under the radar a bit, but his work off the ball was a big reason why we dominated their midfield in the cup final. Won the ball back a lot.
