i have two things to say on this.

hinkel clearly had a shocker today, that is clear, so why does he remain on the field the entire game when we have a great young full back (paul caddis) on the bench? he also comes forward better that hinkel imo which would have benefitted us in our search to win the game.

secondly - dundee utd draw level and we throw samaras on which is fair enough (imo should have been brought on much sooner to work the channels) as we look to score the winning goal but he take mcdonald off? i realise mcdonald was poor today but when we are going for a win we need as many strikers on as possible?!

i think i agree with everything you said mate. caddis should have been on for hinkel at half time and skippy should have been hooked long before the 84th minute

tbf mate most people i was watching the match with were saying the same thing throughout the match, WGS can be a bit too loyal at times i think.

Robson had a virus all week and wgs brought him on when he could have brought on crosas and gave him his debut but no he tires robson out even more. I just don't get his desicions he should of had skippy off much earlier in the game.

The problem today came because Utd highlighted Hinkel as a weak link, they constantly fired balls over his head! Bringing on Caddis- who is a good 5 inches smaller- would only encourage them to play more high balls!

McDonald should have been taken off earlier in all honesty however it remains that JVoH's miss changed the game, putting all the tempo on to United, leaving us chasing!

Should have started with caddis today imo or at least at the start of the second half we needed more of an attack and he would have been ideal, as mcgeady was so poor the day.

It's quite clear that Caddis is a better right mid than he is a right back.

Samaras should have been on far earlier than he was for McDonald though i do agree with that. However, he was our top scorer last year and when you're looking for a goal that's the player you want on the pitch therefore i can see the managers reasoning.

do you no what strachans problem is.

he waits for something to happen, then reacts to it.

when really he should be making changes, and making something happen.

Caddis may be 5 inches smaller but he is 5 years quicker than hinkel and when you can turn and face the ball that quick high balls do * all....i have not seen hinkel have a really good game for months...sorry but in my opinion someone else deserves a chance.

yeh but to be honest theres to much pressure on him....he has became mr celtic overnight and maybe a mixture of that and * cover i.e naylor and no one else being consistant enough on the right side can only put bags of pressure on him to create and teams target mcgeady also....we need flair in the middle of the park as well as the wide area so teams are worked hard and theres plenty of ideas in the middle but at the moment its just no there....

    fair point.

Personally i think this is what the team should be in the next few months.

    Boruc

    Caddis---McManus---Caldwell/Loovens---New Left Back

    McGeady---Robson---Crosas---Nakamura

    New Striker---Jvoh

that team would be quality imo, especially if the new striker is maloney, i think he would take more chances than Mcdonald.

Just stating why he wasnt put on at right back. He wouldnt have got the chance to bomb forward as we were on the back foot alot, the momentum stayed with United after we scored. Balls constantly going over his head means he would not be able to play to his strengths, being his attacking play.

Yes, Hinkel has had a chance and someone else may deserve a shot but I do not believe that Caddis would have been right given the circumstances and the level of high balls.

I would much prefer to see a fit Mark Wilson and Aiden McGeady switched to the right hand side. They work well together, in the same way that Telfer and Naka worked well together, but Wilson isnt a left back!

the only high ball that matters is the one they scored from, and it wasn't that high ffs, even caddis would have headered it out of play.

hinkel just * up and sold us big time.

Jesus Christ (sorry Jesus but its needed) do we really need to go through the whole "Shaun Maloney isnt and is never going to be a striker" debate again????

I also find the fact Crosas is in CM bemusing given the fact that no one has seen him play... WGS has only seen him in 4/5 training sessions...

Despite what i think of him, from today... no Hartley???

    And McManus?????????

to be honest i dunno why WGS don't play a 3-5-2 solves the full back problem (they won't be needed) instead have 2 wide men and 3 middle men to do all the nitty gritty and spread the play a role suited for a robbo, brown, crosas/hartley midfield and two upfront

im no mcmanus biggest fan either, but im smart enough to know wgs isn't dropping him, as much as i may want it to happen.

and i think maloney would be brilliant just behind jan, don't you ?

and why sign crosas, if we have no intentions of playing him, infact why buy him, if no one has seen him play.
