Noticed the last few games "big" games folk coming along and it's almost like a site seeing expertise spending the full game taking photos or videos in my area of the ground anyway but tonight especially bad for it worrying we might end up like man utd or tinpot prem clubs and their grounds filled as box ticking excercises. I blame these wee vloggers personally add nothing to the atmosphere a couple of them in front actually fired me a couple of looks cause I was booing mudryk tonight

Nowhere near the level it used to be even 10 years ago.

Madrid was the best it's been in a while but other than that it's just not the same.

It isn’t the same as it used to be. There’s an impatience and nervousness about the place that has always been there, but makes an appearance a lot earlier in games when things aren’t going to plan. It shows on the pitch as well. I’m convinced it has a real affect on the players. They sense it and it carries over.

A lot of empty seats around me tonight too, consider the importance of the game.

Loads of folk want the pic or video for their social media to show off that they were there.

The vloggers don’t help either and I do think it’s * that they take tickets away from real fans.

    Day trippers are nothing new.

I think the fact we had no chance of qualifying from the group affected the atmosphere tonight.

It’s been rubbish since the introduction of the disco lights.

Also, Liam McGrandles singing YNWA… really?

Lets be honest tye performances have been dog * in the Champions league since 12/13. If we improved the atmosphere would improve.

We used to go in thinking we could give anyone a doing at Parkhead but it's totally evaporated over the last 10 years.

Madrid game was right up there with the best.

I think tonight was most subdued because we knew couldn’t make last 16 CL and quite an ask for EL.

What annoys me more is fans getting on the backs of the players as soon as they make a mistake or take wrong option, it’s been notably worse this season.

One of the big problems is how many additional tickets supporters groups get.

I know way too many people bagging big game tickets for their burd or pal who have never been to games before/have little interest.

Yep spot on. Its become a world wide thing now, was in ibiza in june and every club we went to was just * taking videos on their phone instead of living in the moment and enjoying the music. Social media has * * heads.

How the team plays on the park shouldn’t have a huge impact on the atmosphere though if we want to be labeled as one of the best fans in the world. Was over in split in croatia in 2015 and took in one Hajduk splits games while i was there, they were playing a team down the bottom of the league Zadar and were 2-0 down, yet still the place was rocking, the ultras section behind their goal which must’ve been around 7-8 thousand bounced the whole game. We simply don’t have that level of support and never will, these * seemed like no matter what they sing 90 minutes.

I feel the same to be honest.

Then I remind myself I wasn’t even there and it’s * all to do with me.

Not even being sarcastic. I watch the games and think to myself the atmosphere isn’t great, then quickly correct myself.

We have a brilliant home crowd on European nights, but it always has been and always will be, reactive to what’s happening on the park.

I said on the forum when the draw was done that it was a good draw on paper, but people who only watch Celtic and the English Premier League, would underestimate Leipzig and Shakhtar, resulting in a negative atmosphere when we are up against it for a few consecutive minutes in a game.

We’re fourth seeds for a reason. At least half that crowd have zero knowledge of how good Shakhtar or Leipzig are, and that’s fine. Just don’t hold it against the team.

Atmosphere was definitely poorest of the 3 matches. Madrid game was immense though, only just short of the Hun night game for me in recent times.

Did think it was Ok, other than the singer at the start spoiling Walk on a bit. Really picked up after the goal but fell away when they equalised and subs but a lot of that was down to our nervous play as much as a nervous crowd.

Not sure what people expect now. Playing Shakhtar for 3rd place is different from going head to head against Madrid. Certainly GB played their part if a bit quieter than usual.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's took notice of these folk who are there to ",Sample the atmosphere" depressing man it's defo become a wee tick on folks bucket lists all started with that daft video that circulated when the crowd drowned out the champions league anthem feel like it's a forced atmosphere at times now

Thing is - last night was a barnstormer of a game. Yes, I get that that introduced nervousness, but I'd still have thought the crowd would have been going bananas.

Say what you like, but there's a fair chance that Celtic have been involved in the most entertaining games in the competition so far. Games like the one last night are where the 12th man could have made a REAL difference. He never showed.

Seems we just make a racket at the start of the match now, and then settle down.

When I was still gong to the games, it felt like it was our duty to provide an atmosphere that would cary our players, and unsettle theirs. Ah, when I were a lad...
