It's easy to just forget these things and get on with yer life, but when you think properly about them it's just infuriating. * *.

A very interesting life to say the least. The last remaining head of state to have been a veteran of WW2, could have fled to Canada during our nations darkest hour but stayed and served her country with honour.

She was born into a privileged position, that is undeniable, all of us are privileged to somebody in a worse position than us and none of us choose the circumstances we are born into, did she ever go hungry, no. Did she ever live in poverty? No, but despite this I think she lived a pretty sad life in a golden cage - she escaped all that comes with that once in her life, on VE day when she walked the streets of whitehall without being noticed and its no surprise that this was one of her fondest memories.

Other than that for the rest of her life she was an unfortunate puppet to a plethora of outdated rules and traditions that her family and advisors drilled into her from an early age, she ultimately had no chance to escape her 'duty' and live a normal life. Every interaction she had with other people was with the realisation from both sides that she was the Queen, that must have been difficult psychologically not only to build connections but to also trust people's intentions.
I mean look at how everybody's reacting, they're either worshipping her or making jokes about her, I don't think it's right to do either - she was thrust into a position for 70 years and in the 1000 year history of monarchs she caused remarkable little controversy relative to her predecessors, she managed to keep her ego pretty much in check as best as a King or Queen of a country can, so in terms of how monarchs go, she could have been a lot worse.

Not quite the same satisfaction as when Thatcher croaked it, but I'll settle for the point.

Just think of the costs, every coin, bank note, post box, government letter and every single article ,building and embassy around the world with ER on it.
All this for a group off people who have done nothing but cost us time and time again.
The people that peddle the myth that the royal family are loved by the common man are only licking the arses of the royals in the hope of getting some wee tribute like an OBE or a Knighthood

Tbf when you’re posting videos on Facebook with champagne and a sign saying liz the lizard is dead or whatever it was, you’re probably going to have to deal with the consequences when the psychos see it.

    If you’ve got a business it’s a stupid move.

Both extremes are as bad as each other. I couldn’t care less, a 96 year old woman died and that’s it. I feel nothing.
