Even though they’re on good form, they’re still pish.

Celtic will travel to Motherwell in the quarter-finals of the Premier Sports Cup.

Ange Postecoglou's side booked their place in the last eight with a 4-1 victory over Ross County in Dingwall on Wednesday night.

Motherwell also advanced on the same night with a 4-0 win at home to Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

The Celts are the current holders of the Premier Sports Cup and will travel to Fir Park as they look to retain their title, knowing victory will send them back to Hampden Park and into the semi-finals after the New Year.

The tie will be played on the midweek of 18/19/20 October, with full fixture details to be confirmed at a later date.

Celtic’s Premier Sports Cup quarter-final clash against Motherwell at Fir Park has been selected by the broadcaster to be shown on TV on Wednesday, October 19, with a 6.15pm kick-off.

The Club has held discussions with both Premier Sports and Motherwell over the early kick-off with a view to finding a more suitable time, but due to a number of factors around other fixtures and scheduling, the timing of the match is not able to be changed.

Clearly we are hugely disappointed by this outcome and we can assure our fans that we have made every effort to find an alternative solution – one which would benefit both sets of supporters.

We thank our fans for their understanding and continued support
