There was a spell in the middle of last season when he was coming on and helping seeing out games that were quite edgy. He looks miles off it last few times I’ve seen him though, like he was at the start of the season. He’ll be in the squads though it looks like unless we get another midfielder. Rogic and Bitton both leaving and Mooy the only first team midfielder signed. We could do with another before end of window.

 

He must be a good mentor or person to have around the dressing room. Only real reason he’s here.

everyone ignore what I said earlier on in the thread about needing players like him around the dressing room. * that. Watching him last night made me wish Soro didn't go anywhere which is worrying in itself.

 

I think the only real reason he’s here is that he has nowhere else to go.

Nobody is signing him and paying him as much as we are, while still having 3 years left on his contract. Very comfortable gig.

 

Probably most realistic hope it's that a Championship club wants him on loan later in the window, and is willing to pay at least a portion of his wages.

 

Don't think he's an ange signing abs crazy given a 4 year deal to someone with a terrible injury record.

 

And quite * when he was at Hamilton, never been a player in his younger years either.

Yeah nah he was pretty good at Wigan and for most his stint at Everton, pretty sure he was Evertons record signing at the time as well, you're not getting that if you're *. Broke his leg and hasnt been the same since.

 

Don’t get why he’s being cut slack for not being fit, whilst guys like Ajeti are being powered for it.

We know he took an "active" role in recruitment last year. Irish and playing in EPL also strongly suggest he was involved seen as all the auld * goes on about is us in epl. Has a major hard in for that league and all the * attached to it.

Think scales was 100% his signing too, probably for even dodgier reasons than just being Irish.

Funnily enough they are probably the 2 signings from last season who made littlest impact. Its almost as if executives no * all about football. Clearly he learned nothing from that fat * lawwells constant medelling in transfers.

 

The McCarthy signing absolutely has Desmond written all over it.

Even a highly intelligent and successful bloke can have blindspots, and DD definitely has one for Irish players.

 

There is no way that he will ever score against the "mankys" as he will only be used in games against teams where we are winning comfortably. Mind you, there might hopefully be a game against the "mankys" where we are winning comfortably and he can come on as a sub and, who knows, even score a goal against them but the odds at that happening are even greater than the ones I have for growing hair again
