    Would prefer Belmonte. More physically imposing and looks better tactically. A few time's in the clips Vera is miles out of position but does cover..

    Personally i'm still on the fence with Belmonte (more on a technical than physical level) but that game where Bernabei got sent off, he was very good. Had a peak at his report aswell earlier and he tops Vera for defensive stats. Some of them by a large margin. Going to rewatch some more of him later as someone on KDS said we heavily scouted him so he may very well be one of our secondary targets.

    Love Castro. Looks like an aggressive 10 of sorts. But also looks like he could fill in as a deeper playmaker. If there is a release clause of £4 mill then wouldnt mind Nicholson getting the credit card out for this one.

    Looking at Belmonte’s stats, he definitely gets through more defensive work and appears equally good on the ball. The only flag I can see is he’s played exclusively as a CM, so it’s probably like having another CalMac in midfield. Not bad if you play them as a dual pivot along with a 10, but probably not good if you want him as a sitting 6.

    The fact that we went for a destroyer like Souza, I think Ange wants a sitting 6, so maybe Onana is the go, assuming we can get him for a reasonable price. The only way I see Belmonte and Vera coming in is if Ange decides the ideal player he wants isn’t available and changes tact to a dual pivot.

    Either way, we definitely seem to be looking in all the right places because I think we’d have been ecstatic to have been linked to some of these players 12 months ago.

    Tbf if Jullien's move to Schalke hadn't fell through and City Group didn't move the goalposts (allegedly) with Souza then we'd aw be sitting here thinking it's been a great window so far.

    We seem to be moving on the deadwood, even if not permanently, pretty well atm and there's pretty much zero chance we don't get at least a CB and DM before the season kicks off.

    Tbh I think it’d be a bit of a tacky “shirt sale” signing. The lad is clearly a decent player but we’re already very well stocked in all the positions he can possibly play in. If we do sign him before a CDM or CB I’ll be more than a bit PO.
