I don't feel wee regressed comparing eyro results under ange , wot I feel is we met a team that wer prepared to attack us constantly, we don't really get that much of the time and wot it showed is we are easily exposed if any of our midfield are lazy .
This is why it's vital if we play the ange way we can pass well , tonight we didn't, and especially Biton got caught with the ball sticking a bit and misjudging the bounce , we struggled with poor touches leaving them so much time to set their defense.
It was such a frustrating night and wot I hate to see most is wingers getting the ball and not getting to the by line ,it was always played back ,no balls played inside between the lines for a winger to run onto , we got chances wen they dropped the tempo as it was over .
This team offered us a challenge we have not faced , and we wer shown our weaknesses, failure to chase back and cover midfield areas , leaving our defence exposed , their shape was good , they stretched us and pulled us away from midfield and had runners into the space ,much like we wer doing in games at home in spl , we need better athletes, a bit more aggression, and be more efficient.

Just shows how we don't do enough well with our budget. We should aim to be as efficient as Bodo. We wouldn't get kicked out of the CL qualifiers by inferior clubs as we do atm.

There are plenty who agree with that opinion, they just don't want to put it out there because it gets jumped on by people such as yourself, fact is McGregor hasn't been good enough at European level for quite some time, imo we need an entire new MF at European level besides perhaps Hatate

Next season, in Europe, if we're to really make a decent mark at that level, then

    New GK
Juranovic Jullien New CB New LB
    New CDM
    Hatate New CM
    New RW Kyogo Jota
Need near enough a whole new team to compete competently enough at that level imo

You’d get rid of McGregor and Hart but happy to gamble on Jullien who hasn’t kicked a ball in over a year?

What planet are you on man?

Jullien, the second most expensive signing in our history, the best CB at the club after Van Dijk over the last 10 years, yes I'd have him back in the team asap and I also trust him to step up consistently at that level

Hart has been a good step up from Barkas this season, but he's not near Forster level, McGregor, I've been unconvinced by him in Europe for some time now, so yes I'd be looking for better than Hart and McGregor by the start of next season

Also I wouldn't 'get rid' of McGregor and Hart, just wouldn't have them as first choice from the start of next season, would still keep them at the club though

Will people feel a little better if Bodo go on to win the Conference?

They're clearly a very good side.

Seen the team selection and isntantly knew it was going to be dross. Had the thought Ange was playing certain folk for punishment :giggle1:. Not sure if we made them look amazing, or they genuinely are pretty * good - I feel the latter.

Its the same consistent problem with Celtic, comfortable in Scotland because teams mostly sit in tight against us, go to Europe and can't play against a team who takes the game to us because we're simply not used to it and panic. Its a self-perpetuating cycle. Teams in the SPL are just so inconsistant and of terrible quality they can't afford to have a proper go at us as they get punished. They're playing amongst themselves and hoping to maybe take a scalp, not that it does much in the long run as they end up getting battered by one of the bottom teams the following week.

Like most of these European results, they can be excused if there was an actual battle involved and they came out on top, but there was nothing from our side.

We all want to see Celtic win, and its upsetting to lose in that manner, especially with the feel-good factor we've taken on because of the domestic performances (and earlier European tbh) which none of us anticipated. This wee run was a great bonus, but should firmly put us back in our place and accept this is very much still a transition phase.

    They won't win it.

Good side, very, VERY well coached. But we didn't lay a glove. Makes it a * of a lot easier for any opponent.

A know mate take Europe out the equation which really is the dessert, last 2 months we’ve won a cup, won every league game, pumped them 3- clawed back a 6 points gap to go 3 ahead, personally id rather be in that position than have thrown away a 9 points swing in just over a month but turned up and took a big European scalp in a trophy that I know we have absolutely no chance of winning

    How very DARE YOU.

We're the worst team in the world right now, and don't you forget it!

We've duffed it against part time eskimos/ footballers, ooor budget is 50 times theirs, ooor sauad needs gutted, the league is now over cuz ra rangers beet Bruoosha, and Ange must go!

All your common sense patter aint washing tonight son!

Seriously though Taz, many thanks for attempting to reason with the utter * zoomers in here tonight. But methinks tis a wasted endeavour.

To the doom merchants on here, all your entirely valid and logical points are background noise to the rage filled filled bees in their heads.

All this * about budgets is a pure * riddy too.
Apparently Bodo walloping Roma 6-1 at home, and then Roma, literally scraping a 2-2 draw AT HOME, is fake news. A figment of the lizard men, controlling our minds with pheremones produced by drinking the blood of children.
Oh and guess who literally had Roma players on toast in BOTH games...Solbakken.

Remind me folks? Do Roma have a * budget that B/G?

Is Jose Mourinho not a "pragmatic" manager whose career accolades shade almost 99.9% of all other pro managers in Europe?

    No? We're still *?

Ppl need to wake the * up and realise that Bodo playing in Norway on a plastic pitch in a dump stadium, doesn't take away from the fact that theyre an utterly class outfit, from top to bottom.

Roma was no fluke. And we arent anywhere near the doom of dooms some rockets on here are predicting, and seem to be suspiciously enjoying.

    * saying we've lost the league tonight.

    * me, this place needs gutted.

A like big Julien mate- also miss his presence at set pieces for a goal and he’s tidy on the ball for a big guy but he lacks a bit of dig that we need, people like Lyndon dykes big awkward physical strikers who got physical have ragdolled him at times, he’s definitely a decent player but he’s not in the same calibre as a VVD, big CCV has been good but would love a MON like central defender with the presence of a Bobo, mjallby valgeren who just stuck to defending and absolutely bullied and frightened the life out of strikers especially the Huns, and won the ball and let the midfield and forwards take it from there

For me personally I think tonight puts us even more in control for the league.

Back to playing Saturdays while they play Sundays.

Focus completely on the league without distraction of Europe.

Still gutted to get beat and go out of Europe but the bigger picture is far more rewarding for us and disastrous for them.

Whatever that team are doing we should take a good look at, 7500 seated stadium in a league no better than ours, theve that result v roma and now proved they were the better team v us over 2 games? I've never heard of them before the fixture but some of there players were class! They certainly weren't * but jeezo we didn't scare them at all..

Couldn’t agree more with these two points. All I am saying is we better beat Hibs Sunday or giving up the tie without kicking a ball looks very foolish.

On the later point I think the gulf in how B/G are run and Celtic has been is enormous. They take a marginal gains approach no stone unturned in finding talent, getting them physically right and mentally prepared. They even brought in an ex fighter pilot to work with the team on mentality.

Celtic hire every ex player they can get on the cheap with next to no experience or coaching qualifications. We hire our ex manager as a consultant to map our pathway to the first team when it’s not working. We still have not technical director and hope one man can completely turn a shambles into a success.

Fair play to Ange he is making some fist of it but if we are to truly kick on we need to help the guy out. Our fitness levels don’t seem near to what is required. We still make the same mistakes consistently. We still have half a squad of guys who will never fit Ange’s style.

We never go out and get all the players we need to cover all the positions we need. The summer was an exception due to the number of players but we came out that window still 2 CMs, and a left hand side of the team light.

We then still come through January a left back light and it’s badly showing when we try to rotate.

You don’t see teams like B/G go out and loan lots of first team players leaving huge gaps in their squad at the end of seasons, as they know they will likely lose some of their best players so need replacements for them anyway. They properly scout players who fit what they need instead so they know the chance of them being a success is very high.

Fk sake mate he’s only had 2 windows and near enough built a whole new team , and already won a trophy, took 50 points out of 54 in last 18 league games, and took us to top of the league to do that in 7 months is a * miracle, Gerrard got 2 season s of winning absolutely nothing to build a half decent team for a 3rd season, their team s a team 4 years into progress, we are 7 months, obviously we are still Miles away from what Ange wants, he’s well ahead of schedule but with any work progress, it’s going to take time and a few more windows to become the team he wants us to be, nearly every player he’s bought has been fairly successful and played their part in we’re we are at, so everything heading in right direction but definitely be results like tonight along the way

Very frustrating to see open shots on goal by Maeda and Abada blasted over the bar where a low shot would have scored.

At this level of football it is not good enough.
