    Does anyone actually know anything about this guy. To be honest I had never heard of him. I dont want to think that we will be wasting our money. Also dont see the point if big Bobo is still around.

    Maybe the Defence should be left alone at the minute. Its true you can never have too many good players but I just dont see where this guy fits in. Our defence was very good on Sun and for the first game you would be hoping for it to improve thoughout the season.

    My concern on Sun was complete lack of Creativity. Naka and Mcgeady will be easily read this year. Maybe someone else to mix it up. I like the thought of Maloney back. Now Maloney could also play up with Jan and give that big Sulk McDonald a turn on the bench and make him want his place again instead of thinking that he is the only one who can do the job.

    i doubt we will sign Madlung now that Loovens looks set to check in. i can only see him signing if Balde leaves.

    Wolfsburg defender Alexander Madlung wants a move to Celtic. "I would be happy to play for Celtic, that would be no problem," Madlung insisted. "It's a great club with lots of tradition and a big reputation in European football.
    "I haven't been in Glasgow for talks, but the clubs have made contact. However, it's not for me to decide, it's for the Wolfsburg coach, Felix Magath, to accept an offer."
    Wolfsburg must drop their £4 million asking price if Madlung is to make the move to Celtic.

    Alexander Madlung is CB and I would hope this story is true as I think him and Glen Loovens would have an excellent partnership at the centre of our defence. He's only 26 and hes 6 foot 4 inches just what we're looking for.

    I think this move could be on if we get rid of Balde, and apparently he is close to signing for Birmingham so Im very hopeful.

    still a slim chance of doing a deal as WGS said he needs 4 CL quality centre backs and i don't see O'Dea as being that fourth CL quality defender yet. deal would probably depend on others leaving the club first (eg Bobo).

    Celtic closing in on Madlung

    Celtic are in talks with Wolfsburg to bring their German international defender, Alexander Madlung, to Parkhead and it seems that the player is keen on the move.

    The player is valued at €5million by Wolfsburg, which Celtic think is a little on the high side so negotiations are ongoing.

    The player himself has come out and said that he would be pleased with the move if the two clubs can come to an agreement.

    "I would be happy to play for Celtic, that would be no problem," he said. "It's a great club with lots of tradition and a big reputation in European football.

    "I haven't been in Glasgow for talks, but the clubs have made contact. However, it's not for me to decide, it's for the Wolfsburg coach, Felix Magath, to accept an offer."

    Madlung has refused to sign a new contract at Wolfsburg so it is likely that they would be willing to sell as he is entering the final year, so it just seems to be down to agreeing the price.
