I think he's a decent, solid player tbh.Certainly an improvement on Naylor...Ye know what yer gonna get with Robinson, touch tackler, can cross a ball, not the quickest to be fair.

more unambitious bargain bin raiding. For every Barry Robson there are 5 duds, its a total false economy.

We're probably saving in this department so we can spend more elsewhere on the pitch. I think he's pretty average. We should aim for a younger player, with a better pedigree. Not Champions League standard.

H solid. Stronger and better tackler than Naylor. He would love the old firm games.

The papers stated we were in for Rat but from what I hear there was never any bid. We have a set budget and WGS does not want to spen it all on players who are not better than what we have.

We see the possible signing of Tamas coming close again. Thats 3.75mil. Then possibly this guy Robinson for 1mil (whom I actually like and if he goes in hard on Novo or ferguson hopefully will do a lot of damage.)

Then you have the guy Corsas who may actually sign perm for 2.5mil. then we got sammy for 1.2mil and paddy mccourt for 200k

Now added together that would bring our spend to

£8.65mil. Now please tell me if that means we are not spending the money.

We need to wait. See if these come off before we judge the Manager and the board. If we spend that £8.65mil I would be absolutely delighted.

Then If we can sell Gravesen and BOBO and then some other fringes. Riordan, Sno and Killen maybe donati

then that gives us the ability to strengthen in Jan before the Champs League last 16

    Hail Hail

He's a good defender and he gets his fair share of assists.

Why was everyone all for the Portugese boy who hadn't played any 1st team games but was supposed to help us progress in Europe and then this guy is crap even though he's played plenty of games in the EPL and has been round the block?

Fair enough we aren't building our team around him but how many good left backs are there out there that you can get excited about?

Its not that they are not renewing his contract its that they have not yet renweed I bet they are trying frantically now. He was named in the Championship team of the year so I have no Doubt they do not want him to go

Kev, I'll take your word for it. As I've already said I don't know enough about the lad, so i'll not slate him. If he comes he'll get the same chnce to prove himself as any other player.

I've seen him. Is he not a bit Andy Reid; i.e, fat for a footballer? I can't see catching young, fast strikers in Europe. Lets hope Tamas has a bit of pace.

Jesus Christ I dont know with some people. We all want a LB better than Naylor so we get linked with 1 that is not gonna break the bank then no body wants him cause he is from the Championship. Well F**k me sideways. He got his team promoted and was in the Leagues team of the year. He has played in the EPL. As for him being fat. Like the guy said in another post he has plenty of assists meaning he bombs up and down the wing in support.

John Hartson was fat. was he * too?

Big Johnny Hartson was an immense striker. What a goalscorer. Pains me looking back on that team: Big Johnny Bravo at the back, Valgaaren in his prime, Bobo, Lambo, Lenny, Stan, Thommo, Sutton, Henke and Hartson! What a team

Imo he is no better than Lee Naylor.

I think we could do better.

Haven't had the success of the current team. Nothing like time passing to make players better than they were.

Im with you. Dont get me wrong I loved that team as I do all Celtic teams. But we are in a new era now and the team we have is good in its own right.

Robinson is a good player and I have no doubts if we sign him he will play a pivotal role in our team for next few years

Not had the success because we were competing against a much better Rangers team than they are now! No point in a debate but we all know that team would walk this league. Remember, that same team SHOULD have had 5 in a row except Rangers winning on the last day twice! Strachan has won 3 in a row, but is our home record still as comparable? Are we turning over teams like we used to? Exactly the same with the champs league. It's luck of the draw and Strachan has got through both times with 9 points. Exactly the same O'Neil didn't get us through with the first season in champs league. The 2nd time, well we had AC Milan, Barcelona and Shahktar in our group! I'm sure if it were Benfica instead of Barca, we'd have had a chance!
